The 2006 Cincinnati Masters (also known as the ''Western & Southern Financial Group Masters'' and ''Western & Southern Financial Group Women's Open'' for sponsorship reasons) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 105th edition of the Cincinnati Masters, and was part of the ATP Masters Series of the 2006 ATP Tour, and of the Tier III Series of the 2006 WTA Tour. Both the men's and the women's events took place at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, near Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, with the men playing from August 14 through August 21, 2006, and the women from July 17 through July 23, 2006. The 2006 Canadian Open (also known as the 2006 Rogers Masters and 2006 Rogers Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. Tomás Robredo Garcés (, ; born 1 May 1982) is a Spanish former professional tennis player. His career-high singles ranking was world No. 5, which he reached in August 2006 as a result of winning the 2006 Hamburg Masters – Singles, Hamburg Masters earlier in the year. Robredo reached the quarterfinals at seven singles Grand Slam (tennis)#Tournaments, major tournaments. He was also a three-time semifinalist at the US Open (tennis), US Open men's doubles tournament, and a semifinalist at the Australian Open in mixed doubles. The 2006 Hamburg Masters was a men's tennis tournament played on Clay court, outdoor clay courts. It was the 100th edition of the Hamburg Masters, and was part of the ATP Masters Series of the 2006 ATP Tour. It took place at the Rothenbaum, Rothenbaum Tennis Center in Hamburg, Germany, from 15 May through 22 May 2006.
