2005–06 South African Premiership
The 2005–06 South African Premiership, known as the Castle Premiership for sponsorship purposes, and also commonly referred to as the PSL after the governing body, was the tenth season of the Premiership since its establishment in 1996. It was won by Mamelodi Sundowns. Final table Tembisa Classic sold their status to Maritzburg United in September 2005. South African Premiership
The South African Premiership, also known as the Betway Premiership for sponsorship reasons, and commonly referred to as the PSL after its governing body, is a professional soccer league in South Africa and the highest level of the South African soccer league system. It has been organised since 1996. The 2024–25 season started on 14 September 2024, Mamelodi Sundowns successfully defended the title in 2025 which they've held continuously since the 2017–18 season. History The league was founded in 1996 after an agreement between the National Soccer League and the remnants of the National Professional Soccer League. It is stated on its website that the former name still exists today, but for legal purposes, with the ''Premier Soccer League'' being its trade name. Santos Football Club or simply Santos is a South African professional Association football, soccer club based in the Lansdowne, Cape Town, Lansdowne, a suburb of the city of Cape Town. Toko Malebo
Toko is a small rural settlement 10 kilometres east of Stratford, New Zealand, at the intersection of East Road (New Zealand State Highway 43, State Highway 43) and Toko Road. It is located on a railway, the Stratford–Okahukura Line, the western portion of which was operated as a branch line known as the Toko Branch prior to the line's completion. The Toko Stream flows through the area to join the Pātea River. Geography Toko is surrounded by extremely fertile land, being located on the periphery of the Taranaki ringplain and adjacent to the Pātea River. Andile Ncobo
Andile Aldrin "Ace" Ncobo (born 1967 in Nqadu Village, Willowvale, Eastern Cape) is a former South African football (soccer) referee. He was a school principal (Dumalisile Comprehensive High School, Butterworth High School) and university lecturer. He resigned from education in 2007 when he took up a position as general manager for the Premier Soccer League. Ncobo was formerly a FIFA referee, and is known to have officiated in FIFA matches during the period from 2000 to 2007. Esrom Nyandoro
Esrom Nyandoro (born 6 February 1980) is a former Zimbabwean football midfielder. In his native Zimbabwe, Nyandoro is nicknamed "Yellowman". Club career Nyandoro grew up in Zimbabwe's second largest city, Bulawayo, and learnt at Mzilikazi High School. He was identified by soccer scouts whilst playing in the Peter Ndlovu invitational under 19 tournament, for Zimbabwe Saints Juniors, which was used to identify and promote talent. As a result of this he signed with AmaZulu, rising through the reserve ranks to being a member of the league championship winning squad. Nyandoro was then signed by South African club Mamelodi Sundowns in 2004 and was named the PSL Club Rookie of the Year after his debut season. Surprise Moriri
Surprise Mohlomolleng Moriri (born 20 March 1980 in Matibidi, Mpumalanga) is a South African former professional footballer who used to play as a midfielder or striker. He also represented South Africa as an international and amassed 34 caps during his time with the South Africa national team from 2003-2010. Club career Moriri was a free-scoring midfielder who was chosen as South Africa's PSL Player of the Season in 2005–06. He usually played as a second striker or behind the striker as a supporting or shadow striker. He was also deployed on the right side of midfield. Durban City are a South African soccer club based in the city of Durban. Prior to the start of the 2024–25 National First Division, they were called Maritzburg United, and were based in the city of Pietermaritzburg.
