The 2005 Oschersleben DTM round was a motor racing event for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters held between 24 and 26 June 2005. The Motorsport Arena Oschersleben is a long race track with a width of and elevation changes of . Martin Tomczyk
Martin Tomczyk (born 7 December 1981) is a former German professional racing driver. He is now the motorsports director at ABT Sportsline. He was the DTM champion in 2011, third in 2007, fourth in 2006 and fifth in 2004, having won eight races. Racing career After a karting career, he raced in Formula BMW and Formula Three, where he finished 12th in 2000. In 2001 he moved up to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. In 2000 his best result was a fourth place on the Nürburgring where he also took the fastest of the race. He took his first pole position in Hockenheim 2002 but he retired from the race. In 2004 he took his first podium in Estoril. During 2004 he also finished second in Zandvoort, Oschersleben and Hockenheim on his way to finish fifth in the championship. Marcel Fässler (born 27 May 1976) is a Swiss former racing driver. From 2010 to 2016 he competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship as part of Audi Sport Team Joest with co-drivers André Lotterer and Benoît Tréluyer, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times (2011, 2012, and 2014) and capturing the World Endurance Drivers' Championship in 2012. Rinaldo "Dindo" Capello (born 17 June 1964) is an Italian professional racing driver. He is a three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Bentley in 2003 and Audi in 2004 and 2008. Capello is a two-time American Le Mans Series champion, a five-time 12 Hours of Sebring winner, and the record holder for most wins at Petit Le Mans, having won five times. Bernd Robert Schneider (born 20 July 1964) is a German racing driver. He is a five-time Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters champion, and a Mercedes Brand Ambassador. Career Early years Schneider was named after legendary driver Bernd Rosemeyer, winner of the 1936 Grand Prix season, 1936 European Drivers' Championship. Joest Racing is a German sports car racing team that was established in 1978 by former Porsche works racer Reinhold Joest. Their headquarters are in Wald-Michelbach, Germany. Frank Stippler (born 9 April 1975) is a German racing driver. He has competed in such series as Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, Rolex Sports Car Series and the Swedish Touring Car Championship. Bruno Spengler (born August 23, 1983) is an Alsatian-born Canadian racing driver. A long-term Mercedes-AMG and BMW factory driver, he currently works for Bugatti. He is the 2012 DTM champion. The Opel Vectra GTS V8 DTM was a DTM touring car constructed by German car manufacturer Opel. The car's development started in mid-2002 and it was raced in the 2004 and 2005 DTM seasons with little success before the company's exit after the 2005 season.
