The 2005 Mr. Olympia contest was an IFBB professional bodybuilding competition and the feature event of Joe Weider's 2005 Olympia Weekend held October 15–16, 2005 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Results The total prize amount given during the exhibition was $711,000, an increase of 32% from 2004. The total prize money for the men's Mr. Olympia was $550,000. Jason Isaac Cutler (born August 3, 1973) is an American retired professional bodybuilder. Cutler is a four-time Mr. Olympia winner, having won in 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010; and a six-time runner-up. Early life Jason Isaac Cutler was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on August 3, 1973. He grew up in nearby Sterling and attended Wachusett Regional High School in Holden. He began working in his brother's concrete construction business, Cutler Bros. Concrete, when he was 11 years old. He started training to be a bodybuilder at the age of 18. He graduated from Quinsigamond Community College in 1993 with a degree in criminal justice, intending to work as a corrections officer for a maximum security prison. Lee Haney (born November 11, 1959) is an American former IFBB professional bodybuilder. Haney shares the all-time record for most Mr. Olympia titles at eight with Ronnie Coleman and is regarded as one of the greatest bodybuilders to ever grace the stage. Biography Haney grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He is a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College, where he earned a degree in youth counseling. He married Irish model Shirley Draper Haney in 2003 after dating for three years. They had a son, born in 2003, and a daughter in 2005. The family resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Alexandr Fedorov (russian: Александр Фёдоров) (born 6 May 1978) is an IFBB professional bodybuilder. Fedorov earned his IFBB Pro Card after winning the 2003 IFBB European Amateur Championships. After competing in various Russian and other European professional bodybuilding competitions in 2003 and 2004 where he earned two top 3 finishes, including runner up to Ronnie Coleman at the 2004 Grand Prix Russia, Alexander qualified for the 2005 Mr. Olympia, where he did not place. He also competed in the 2006 New York Pro, but did not place either. During this time Fedorov was dealing with a torn pectoral muscle – an injury from September 2003 which would eventually force him to temporarily retire from bodybuilding. Quincy Lee Taylor (born July 18, 1963) is an American former professional boxer who competed between 1986 and 2001. He held the WBC middleweight title from 1995 to 1996. Professional career Taylor, a southpaw, turned pro in 1986. In 1987, he nearly KO´d Sugar Ray Leonard whilst sparring in preparation for Leonard's match against Marvin Hagler and which in Sugar Ray Leonards biography he gives credit to Quincy Taylor for helping him prepare for that fight. In 1994, he landed a shot at WBC middleweight champion Julian Jackson. Taylor scored an upset TKO victory over Jackson, but lost the title in a forced mandatory title defense in his next fight and coming off knee surgery which was not fully recovered to Keith Holmes. After a two-year layoff and a victory in 1998, followed by a three-year layoff and a victory in 2001, Taylor retired from boxing. Ronny Rockel (born 12 July 1972) is a former IFBB professional bodybuilder from Germany. Biography Ronny Rockel was born and raised in Germany. Like many other professional bodybuilders from Europe such as Milos Sarcev and Pavol Jablonicky, Rockel grew up under communist rule. Because of this Rockel was not aware of bodybuilding and other things of the outside world. This soon changed in 1989 when the Berlin Wall was taken down.
