Eyeshield 21
is a Japanese manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. The series tells the story of Sena Kobayakawa, an introverted boy who joins an American football club as a secretary, but after being coerced by quarterback Yoichi Hiruma, becomes the team's running back, wearing jersey number 21 and an eyeshield to conceal his identity. Inagaki chose American football as a central subject of ''Eyeshield 21'' after realizing that it fit perfectly with his idea for the series. The manga was originally serialized in Shueisha's manga magazine ''Weekly Shōnen Jump'' from July 2002 to June 2009. The series consists of 333 chapters collected in 37 volumes. An anime adaptation consisting of 145 television episodes was co-produced by TV Tokyo, NAS, and Gallop. The television series first aired on Japan's TV Tokyo network from April 2005 to March 2008. Plot Haruka is about to graduate from a first-rate college and is looking for work, but no one wants to hire her. Faced with the prospect of becoming a "shuushoku rounin" she lowers her expectations and applies at a tiny talent agency for a job as an agent. When she shows up for the interview, it's like no interview she's ever had before. She's asked all sorts of embarrassing questions and asked to say lines in front of a camera. Later she finds out that they thought she was interviewing to become a talent, and the agent position she wanted has already been given away. However, they think she has that special quality that can make someone a star. She refuses at first but gives in. is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by and serialized from 2000 to 2005 in '' Shōnen Ace'' by Kadokawa Shoten. The story focuses on a high school boy who is allergic to girls who is transported to a mysterious world with a mostly female population; when he returns, one of the girls from that world becomes his housemate.
