2005 Heineken Cup Final
The 2005 Heineken Cup Final was the final match of the 2004–05 Heineken Cup, the tenth season of Europe's top club rugby union competition. The match was played on 22 May 2005 at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. The match was contested by Stade Français and Toulouse, both of France. Toulouse became the competition's first three-time champions, winning the match 18–12. 2004–05 Heineken Cup
The 2004–05 Heineken Cup was the tenth edition of the Heineken Cup. Competing teams, from England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales, were divided into six pools of four, in which teams played home and away matches against each other. The winners of the pools, together with the two best runners-up, qualified for the knock-out stage. The French club Toulouse won a nail-biting final over fellow French side Stade Français by 18-12 after extra time. Toulouse became the first club to win the event three times. Julien Arias
Julien Arias (born 26 October 1983) is a French rugby union coach and former player, he is currently the co-head coach of Stade Français in Top 14 with Laurent Sempéré. His usual position was on the wing. Prior to playing for Stade Français Paris, he was with US Colomiers. He has also represented France two times. Benjamin Kayser
Benjamin Kayser (born 26 July 1984) is a French former rugby union player. He most recently played at hooker for Clermont Auvergne in the French Top 14. Kayser rejoined Stade Français at the end of the 2008/2009 season from Leicester Tigers in the Guinness Premiership, who he joined during the 2007–08 season. While at Leicester he played as a replacement as they won the 2009 Premiership final. Kayser signed for Castres Olympique for the 2010–11 Top 14 season. In February 2011, Kayser signed a 3-year contract with ASM Clermont Auvergne. Kayser played for France at international level, winning his first cap in their summer tour against Australia in 2008. Rodrigo Roncero
Rodrigo Roncero, also known as "RoRo", uncle of Mateo Morrone, alias Morronzero, Morroculo o Duketto, (born 16 February 1977, in Buenos Aires), is a retired Argentine former rugby union player. The last team in which he played was Stade Français in the Top 14. He has also played for Gloucester Rugby in the Guinness Premiership from 2002 to 2004. Roncero also played for Argentina, usually as a prop. Whilst at Gloucester he was a replacement in the 2003 Powergen Cup Final in which Gloucester defeated Northampton Saints. Like his team mate Felipe Contepomi, Rodrigo is a qualified doctor. Roncero made his first appearance for Argentina on 15 September 1998 in a match against Japan. Mathieu Blin
Mathieu Blin (born 20 May 1977 in Paris) is a French rugby union footballer playing Paris club, Stade Français in the elite Top 14 competition. His usual position is at hooker. In both 2003 and 2004 Stade Français won the French championship, defeating Toulouse in the 2003 final, and Perpignan in 2004. The club was also a finalist in the 2005 final, though they were defeated by Biarritz. He scored two tries in Stade's 48 to 8 win over Newcastle in the 2004–05 Heineken Cup quarter-final. They went on to defeat Biarritz in the semi-final, before facing Toulouse in the final at Murrayfield, which they lost. Pieter De Villiers (rugby Union)
Pieter de Villiers (born 3 July 1972 in Malmesbury, South Africa) is a South African-born French rugby union player and coach. As a player he represented France at international level and played in two Rugby World Cups, and ended his club career with Stade Français in the Top 14 competition in France. A prop, he was renowned for his scrummaging ability. David Auradou
David Auradou (born 13 November 1973 in Harfleur, Seine-Maritime) is a French former rugby union footballer. He last played for Paris club Stade Français, where he was the captain, in the ''élite'' Top 14. His usual position was at lock. Career Auradou was part of the Stade Français team that won the Coupe de France in 1999, when they beat CS Bourgoin-Jallieu 27–19 at Saint-Etienne. The following season his club also featured in the final of the French championship, in which they won, defeating the US Colomiers 28–23 at Stade de France. Mike B. James (born 21 July 1973 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) is a former professional Canadian rugby union player. Standing at 196 cm tall and weighing in at 110 kg, James is an imposing figure and is well known for his expertise in the set pieces. Mauro Bergamasco (born 1 May 1979) is a former Italian rugby union footballer who last played for Zebre. He predominantly played as an open-side flanker, although his versatility means that he had also played a number of international games on the wing, and started at scrum-half in an infamously error-prone performance. Shaun Sowerby (born ) is a South African rugby union player and went to Sasolburg highschool. He is currently a forwards coach for Biarritz Rugby in the top French rugby competition, the Top 14. Prior to coaching Biarritz, he had a two-year spell coaching at Montpellier Hérault, having finished his playing career at the Stade Ernest-Wallon for Stade Toulousain. Before that he turned out for Stade Français Paris, who he moved to from the Sharks in South Africa. His usual position was as a number 8. Agustín Pichot (born 22 August 1974, in Buenos Aires) is a retired Argentine rugby union player, formerly captain of the Argentine team and the English club Bristol. In addition to Bristol, he played for French sides Stade Français and Racing Métro after leaving Argentine team CASI from San Isidro in 1997. In 2011, he was inducted into the IRB Hall of Fame.
