The 2005 Dhaka Premier Division League, also known as the The Premier Bank PLC., Premier Bank Dhaka Premier Division League for sponsorship reasons was the 52nd season of the top-tier football league in Bangladesh and the final season in which the league served as the country's top division. The league started on 28 May and ended on 12 September 2005. The top seven teams qualified for the 2007 B.League, the inaugural season of Bangladesh's professional football league. Meanwhile, the bottom three teams, who were originally supposed to participate in the Dhaka First Division Football League (1993–2006), First Division, eventually took part in the Dhaka Senior Division Football League, merger of the First Division and Premier Division Leagues, which served as the second-tier until 2012. Dhaka Senior Division Football League (), or the First Division Football League, is the third tier association football, football league in Bangladesh. Until 2006, it was the top-tier league of the country. It was established in 1948 as part of the Dhaka League, while modern-day Bangladesh was still part of Pakistan. Until 1971, it was run in parallel with the National Football Championship (Pakistan), National Football Championship in West Pakistan. Muktijoddha Sangsad KC () is a Bangladeshi professional football club based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mohammed Jewel Rana (; born 2 May 1968) is a retired Bangladeshi professional footballer who played as a center-back. He served as captain of the Bangladesh national team from 1997 to 1999. Early career Jewel was born on 2 May 1968 in Dhanmondi area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His formed a passion for football while studying at West Dhanmondi Yousuf High School, and eventually began his football career playing for a team called East Bengal in the Pioneer League in 1984. Mohamed Masoud Rana (; born 1 January 1972) is a retired Bangladeshi professional footballer who played as a left back or as a centre midfielder. Early career In 1986, Masoud participated in the Ershad Gold Cup football tournament representing Sirajganj District. He was later included in a camp arranged by the National Sports Council in Dhaka, which consisted of the best 60 players in the tournament.
