Football League (Greece)
The Football League ( el, Φούτμπολ Λιγκ) was the second highest professional football league in Greece since its inception in 1962 as ''Beta Ethniki'' and until 2019. It then served as a third tier after the creation of the Super League 2 as the new second tier and it was eventually abolished in 2021 when the 2021–22 Super League 2 went from a 12 team to a 36 team league, absorbing most of the clubs from the Football League. Paniliakos Football Club ( el, Πανηλειακός Α.Ο. Πύργου) is a Greek association football club based in Pyrgos, Elis, Greece. The club plays in Gamma Ethniki, the third tier of Greek football. Ljubiša Savić (footballer)
Ljubiša "Mauzer" Savić ( sr-cyr, Љубиша Маузер Савић; 11 August 1958 – 7 June 2000) was a Bosnian Serb paramilitary commander during the Bosnian War and a post-war politician. He led the Garda Panteri during the war. After the war, he became the chief of police in Bijeljina. He was assassinated in Bijeljina in 2000, due to suspected gang violence in the city after three gunmen reportedly fired upon his jeep. The first attempt on Savić's life happened in July 1998. Two former Republika Srpska soldiers, Stojan Maksimović and Vladimir Neretljak, were killed in an explosion outside his house. Savić accused Momčilo Krajišnik, the then leader of the SDS, and pro-Belgrade elements in the entity's security services of attempting to plant a bomb under his car. He had been involved in anti-corruption campaigns, and had arrested many corrupt people, even supporters of Radovan Karadžić, including Joja Tintor. Danijel Cesarec (born 8 January 1983) is a Croatian retired footballer. Club career NK Marsonia Cesarec started his career in NK Marsonia. He played there 2 years (2000-2002), making 40 appearances and scoring 6 league goals. This good season was a result of a big interest from foreign clubs. Thomas Kyparissis ( el, Θωμάς Κυπαρίσσης; born 26 March 1970) is a Greek retired football player. He was a striker, who scored more than 150 goals in his entire career. 2005–06 Gamma Ethniki
The 2005–06 Gamma Ethniki was the 23rd season since the official establishment of the third tier of Greek football in 1983. Asteras Tripolis and Agrotikos Asteras were crowned champions in ''Southern'' and ''Northern'' Group respectively, thus winning promotion to Beta Ethniki. Ethnikos Piraeus, Messiniakos, PAS Giannina and Panthrakikos also won promotion due to expansion of Beta Ethniki from 16 to 18 teams. Keratsini, Ionia 2000 Chania, Achaiki, Kozani and Ptolemaida were relegated to Delta Ethniki.
