2004 V8 Supercar Championship Series
The 2004 V8 Supercar Championship Series was an Australian racing series for V8 Supercars. It began on 21 March 2004 at the Adelaide Street Circuit and ended on 5 December at Eastern Creek Raceway after 13 rounds. It was the sixth running of the V8 Supercar Championship Series.The championship was contested as the Australian Touring Car Championship from 1960 to 1998, as the Shell Championship Series from 1999 to 2001 and as the V8 Supercar Championship Series from 2002 The series winner was also awarded the 45th Australian Touring Car Championship title by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport. The championship was won by Marcos Ambrose of the Stone Brothers Racing. Marcos Ambrose
Marcos Ross Ambrose (born 1 September 1976) is an Australian former racing driver and current Garry Rogers Motorsport competition director. He won the Australian V8 Supercar series' championship in 2003 V8 Supercar Championship Series, 2003 and 2004 V8 Supercar Championship Series, 2004. In 2006, Ambrose relocated to the United States to pursue racing in NASCAR, starting with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Craftsman Truck Series. He moved up to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Nationwide Series in 2007, and later the NASCAR Cup Series, Sprint Cup Series in 2008. He is known in NASCAR for having won a total of 6 races at Watkins Glen International. In the Sprint Cup Series, he won at the Glen in 2011 and 2012, and in the Nationwide Series, he won at the Glen in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2014. Pukekohe Park Raceway
Pukekohe Park Raceway was a former car racing track that was situated on the outside of the Pukekohe Park Thoroughbred Racetrack, located in the surrounds of Pukekohe. The Raceway was opened in 1963 as a permanent track, replacing Ardmore Aedrorome as the host circuit of the New Zealand Grand Prix. The car Raceway was designed around the horse racing track that has been hosting thoroughbred races since 1920. Queensland Raceway nicknamed "the paperclip" is a motor racing circuit located at Willowbank, Queensland, Willowbank in Ipswich, Queensland, Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. The Ipswich Super 440 (known for sponsorship reasons as the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440) is the current name for the annual motor racing event for Supercars, held at Queensland Raceway near Ipswich, Queensland. The event has been a semi-regular part of the Supercars Championship—and its previous incarnations, the Shell Championship Series and V8 Supercars Championship—from 1999, with a hiatus between 2020 and 2024. Wanneroo Raceway, currently known as CARCO.com.au Raceway for naming rights reasons, is a motorsport circuit located in Neerabup, approximately north of Perth in Western Australia. It was built by the WA Sporting Car Club. The circuit was originally known as Wanneroo Park and the first race meet took place in March 1969. Initially the major race per year was a 6-hour Le Mans style race for sedans and sports cars known as the Six Hour Le Mans. However, as interest dulled in that event, production car racing took over as the major race type.
