2004 Dallas Burn Season
The 2004 Dallas Burn season was the eighth season of the Major League Soccer team. The season saw the team fail to make the playoffs for the second consecutive year. The season was also the first full season under head coach Colin Clarke. The team moved from Dragon Stadium back to the Cotton Bowl. It would be the last full season for the team in the Cotton Bowl, as they would move to their current stadium in Frisco in 2005. It was also the team's final season as the Burn. With the move to their own stadium the next year, the team would be rebranded as FC Dallas in 2005. Burn forward Eddie Johnson shared the Golden Boot Award with Brian Ching, tying him for the most goals in the MLS with 12. Johnson was the second Burn player to win the award, with Jason Kreis previously winning it in 1999. Jason Kreis
Jason Clarence Kreis (born December 29, 1972) is an American soccer coach and former player who currently serves as an assistant coach for MLS club Inter Miami CF and as head coach of the United States under-23 team. He coached Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer and was previously an assistant coach under Jürgen Klinsmann for the United States men's national soccer team. Prior to that he was the head coach of New York City FC and Real Salt Lake. Kreis spent the majority of his playing career in Major League Soccer in the United States, initially with the Dallas Burn, and later with Real Salt Lake. In total he made over 300 professional appearances, was Major League Soccer MVP in 1999, and is currently tied for the fifth highest scorer in MLS regular season history, with 108 goals. Jair Marrufo
Jair Marrufo (born June 7, 1977) is an American soccer referee. He has been a referee in Major League Soccer since 2002 and a FIFA referee since 2007. Career Marrufo was 2008 MLS Referee of the Year. Marrufo was suspended by MLS for the remainder of the 2009 MLS season as of September 1, 2009, for poor performance over the course of the season, and subsequently on February 5, 2010, Marrufo was removed from the 2010 World Cup referee list. It was announced in 2013 that Marrufo would be a member of the newly formed Professional Referee Organization, the body responsible for refereeing appointments among the United States and Canada's top soccer leagues. Terry Vaughn (referee)
Terry Vaughn (April 1, 1973 – May 4, 2023) was an American soccer referee. Early life Terry Vaughn was born in Mount Vernon, Iowa, on April 1, 1973. He graduated from Iowa City West High School in 1992, where he was a wrestler and soccer player. He attended Coe College and decided to enter refereeing instead of continuing his career as a player. Career In 1998 Vaughn became a National referee for the United States Soccer Federation. He continued to hold a referee license until his retirement in 2012. Bobby Rhine
Bobby Rhine (April 18, 1976 – September 5, 2011) was an American soccer player who last played for FC Dallas of Major League Soccer. Rhine played college soccer at the University of Connecticut from 1994 to 1998. In 1997, he redshirted his senior season in order to complete his master's degree requirements. In 1998, he returned for his last season, earning second-team All-American recognition. In February 1999, the Dallas Burn selected Rhine in the first round (sixth overall) in the 1999 MLS College Draft. Cory Gibbs (born January 14, 1980) is an American former soccer player. He played professionally for clubs in Germany, the Netherlands and England. He also played 19 international matches for the U.S. national soccer team, including at the 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Career College and amateur Gibbs was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Simo Valakari
Simo Johannes Valakari (born 28 April 1973) is a Finnish football coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of FK Auda. Career Valakari began his career with KontU in the Finnish lower divisions, before first moving to FinnPa in 1995 and then to Scottish club Motherwell in 1996. Christopher Henderson (born December 11, 1970) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a midfielder.
