Erik Compton
Erik Harald Høie Compton (born November 11, 1979) is a Norwegian-American professional golfer. Early life Compton was born in Miami, Florida, to an American father and a Norwegian mother and holds dual citizenship. When he was nine, Compton was diagnosed with viral cardiomyopathy, a condition where the heart muscle is inflamed and unable to pump as hard as it should. This condition has resulted in him undergoing two successful heart transplants, the first being in 1992 when Compton was 12, and the second taking place in 2008. Amateur career Compton attended the University of Georgia and played on the 2001 Palmer Cup and Walker Cup teams. He has had two heart transplants. Bay Mills Open Players Championship
The Fortinet Cup Championship is an annual professional golf tournament played in Canada. It is the season ending event on the PGA Tour Americas, having previously served the same function on the PGA Tour Canada, commonly known as the Canadian Tour. The PGA Tour Americas replaced the PGA Tour Canada and the PGA Tour Latinoamérica in 2024. The tournament was founded in 2002 as the Bay Mills Open, hosted at the Bay Mills Resort in Brimley, Michigan, United States, and became designated as the Canadian Tour's "Players Championship" the following year. In 2006, the tournament moved to Ontario, Canada as the new Canadian Tour Championship. It has since remained in Ontario, and adopted different names under various title sponsors. The Montreal Open was a golf tournament on the Canadian Tour that was held in the Greater Montreal area, Quebec, Canada between 2004 and 2009. Founded as the Greater Montreal Open in 2004, the event was sponsored by Lexus the following year and titled the Lexus Montreal Open. In 2006, Montreal Casino was the title sponsor and the tournament was designated as the Canadian Tour's "Players Championship". Between 2007 until it ended in 2009, it was sponsored by the Desjardins Group and titled as the Desjardins Montreal Open. Telus Edmonton Open
The Edmonton Open was a golf tournament on the Canadian Tour that was held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It was founded in 1993 as the Klondike Golf Klassic and was held during the week leading up to the Klondike Days summer fair. In 1996 Telus Communications, Telus become the tournament's main sponsor and it was re-titled as the ED TEL PLAnet Open, before becoming the Telus Edmonton Open the following year. The Edmonton Open came to an end after the 2009 edition when it was merged with the ATB Financial Classic, which was played in Edmonton in 2010 and 2012. Ryan Miller (golfer)
Ryan Dean Miller (born July 17, 1980) is an American former ice hockey goaltender who played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) mostly for the Buffalo Sabres. Miller was drafted 138th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. In 2010, he won the Vezina Trophy as the league's best goaltender. Miller was the winningest American-born goaltender in NHL history from February 2019 until March 2024, when he was passed by Jonathan Quick. In January 2023, Miller was inducted into the Buffalo Sabres Hall Of Fame, and his #30 was retired. In April 2025, Miller was also inducted into the Rochester Americans Hall of Fame. The Greater Vancouver Classic was a golf tournament that was held in the Greater Vancouver area, in British Columbia, Canada. Founded as the BC TEL Pacific Open in 1994, it was a direct replacement for the cancelled British Columbia Open on the Canadian Tour. In 2000 it was re-titled as the Telus Vancouver Open. David Hearn (golfer)
David Geoffrey Hearn (born June 17, 1979) is a Canadian professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He has also played on the Nationwide Tour, Canadian Tour and the Asian Tour. Hearn was born in Brampton, Ontario. He attended the University of Wyoming, where he played on the golf team. He was a member of the winning Canadian team at the 2001 Four Nations Cup tournament, and played out of the Brantford Golf and Country Club as an amateur. Hearn turned professional late in 2001. Times Colonist Open
The Victoria Open is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour Americas. It was previously a stop on the PGA Tour Canada before its merger with the PGA Tour Latinoamérica. It was the longest running tour event on the Canadian Tour. It has been played at several different courses in the Victoria, British Columbia area, and at the Uplands Golf Club in Oak Bay since 2008. Originally played as the Victoria Open in 1981, the tournament was revived in 1984 as a stop on the PGA Tour's satellite Tournament Players Series. Stephen Gangluff
Stephen O. Gangluff (born September 6, 1975) is an American professional golfer. Gangluff was born in Marysville, Ohio. He played college golf at Ohio State University. He turned professional in 1996. Gangluff played on the Nationwide Tour in 2003, 2004, 2007, and 2011. His best finish was T-3 at the 2007 Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open. He also played on the Canadian Tour, winning three times and leading the Order of Merit in 2006.
