The Continental Cup 2003–04 was the seventh edition of the IIHF Continental Cup. The season started on September 26, 2003, and finished on January 11, 2004. The tournament was won by HC Slovan Bratislava, who beat HK Gomel in the final. IIHF Continental Cup
The Continental Cup is a second-level ice hockey tournament for European clubs (behind Champions Hockey League), begun in 1997 after the discontinuing of the European Cup. It was intended for teams from countries without representatives in the European Hockey League, with participating teams chosen by the countries' respective ice hockey associations. Hans Dobida served as chairman of the Continental Cup until 2018. Format IIHF Federation Cup The Federation Cup was an official European ice hockey club competition created in 1995. It was the second European competition for club teams, intended for those teams who could not qualify for the European Cup, especially for those from Eastern European countries. It was the direct predecessor of the IIHF Continental Cup, which was played two seasons later. Stoczniowiec Gdańsk is an ice hockey team based in Gdańsk, Poland. The team currently plays in the 1. Liga, but has formerly spent 30 seasons playing in the Polska Hokej Liga, the top-level ice hockey league in Poland, with their highest finish of third place being achieved in 2003. History The club was founded in 1953 by a group of workers from the Northern Shipyard as part of a bigger sports club. Initially the club used the name Polonia Gdańsk. They changed their name to Stoczniowiec Gdańsk in 1970 when the club officially became part of the newly created multi-sports club Stoczniowiec Gdańsk. Monfort Ma'alot is an Israeli ice hockey team in the city of Ma'alot. The team plays in the Israeli League, the top level of ice hockey in the country. History The club was founded in 1999, and won the Israeli League for the first time a year later. The club won back-to-back titles in 2002 and 2003, and won their fourth Israeli Championship in 2010. KHL Medveščak Admiral (), also known as KHL Medveščak Zagreb, is a Croatian professional ice hockey team based in Zagreb, established in 1961. The team's name derives from the location of its original arena in the Medveščak area in central Zagreb, with KHL the abbreviation of the Croatian words for ice hockey club.
