2003–04 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup
The 2003/04 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup was the twenty fifth World Cup season in freestyle skiing organised by International Ski Federation. The season started on 6 September 2003 and ended on 13 March 2004. This season included four disciplines: aerials, moguls, ski cross and halfpipe. In this season new discipline halfpipe was for the first time introduced in world cup. Dual moguls counted together with moguls rankings and awarded with small crystal globe joined with moguls. Both events in Inawashiro were moguls events although 15 Feb 2004 is wrongly labeled as dual moguls in official fis results. Steve Omischl
Steve Omischl (born November 16, 1978) is a Canadian freestyle skier. Career Omischl was born in North Bay, Ontario.As a kid was a paper boy for the North Bay Nugget, Omischl competes in aerials, and made his World Cup debut in December 1999, finishing with a silver medal at an event in Blackcomb. Omischl earned five more podiums on the World Cup circuit before winning his first event in mid-2002. Along with a fellow olympian Jeff Bean, he participated in an episode of the hit show Mantracker where he defeated Terry Grant in the nerve-wracking chase. Over his career thus far, Omischl has placed on the podium at 40 World Cup events, and claimed 20 titles. He has won four overall World Cup titles, finishing atop the aerials standings in 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2009. He has won four medals at the World Championships. Halfpipe
A half-pipe is a structure used in gravity extreme sports such as skateboarding, snowboarding, skiing, freestyle BMX, Inline skating, skating, and scooter riding. Overview The structure resembles a cross-section of a swimming pool, essentially two concave ramps (or quarter-pipes), topped by copings and decks, facing each other across a flat transition, also known as a ''tranny''. Originally half-pipes were half sections of a large diameter pipe. Since the 1980s, half-pipes contain an extended ''flat bottom'' between the quarter-pipes. The original style half-pipes are no longer built. Flat ground provides time to regain balance after landing and more time to prepare for the next trick. Half-pipe applications include leisure recreation, skills development, competitive training, amateur and professional competition, demonstrations, and as an adjunct to other types of skills training. Mont Tremblant Resort
Mont Tremblant Ski Resort (commonly referred to as Tremblant) is a year-round resort in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec, Canada, located about northwest of Montreal. It is best known as a Ski resort, ski destination, but also features Lake Tremblant suitable for swimming and two golf courses in the summer months. The name of the mountain, Mont Tremblant, was derived from the Algonquin indigenous people, who called it the "trembling mountain." The summit is at an elevation of , which makes it one of the tallest peaks in the Laurentian Mountains, Laurentians. Madonna Di Campiglio
Madonna di Campiglio () is a village and a ski resort in northeast Italy. It is a ''frazione'' of the ''comune'' of Pinzolo. The village lies in the Val Rendena at an elevation of above sea level, and has approximately 1,000 inhabitants. Mikko Ronkainen (born November 25, 1978, in Muurame) is a freestyle skiing, freestyle skier from Finland. He is a two-time World Champion (2001 and 2003) and won the Mogul (skiing), moguls World Cup during the 2000–2001 season. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin Ronkainen won a silver medal. Toby Dawson
Toby Dawson (; Kim Soo-cheol; born Kim Bong-seok; ; May 4, 1979) is an American retired mogul skier. He won a bronze medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Dawson is a featured athlete on the sports medicine show Athlete 360. He is currently a coach for the Korean national freestyle skiing team. Early life Dawson was born in Busan, South Korea as Kim Bong-seok. When he was three, then-Kim Bong-seok was at a crowded Jungang market in Beomil-dong, Dong-gu, Busan with his mother and went missing. His father went through many orphanages in the area for days, and his son was nowhere to be found. A couple from Vail, Colorado, who were ski instructors, adopted Kim Bong-seok and he was renamed Toby Dawson. Jeremy Bloom
Jeremy Bloom (born April 2, 1982) is an American former skier and football player. As a skier, he is a one-time world champion, two-time Olympian, and 10-time World Cup gold medalist. He was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame in 2013. Bloom was a Freshman All-American at the University of Colorado. He was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2006 NFL draft and was also a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, but did not play in a regular season game for either team. Nathan Roberts (born March 24, 1982) (nickname "Nate Dog") is an American freestyle skier who has competed since 1999. He won two medals at the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships with a gold in 2005 and a bronze in 2007. Roberts also won ten World Cup victories in moguls from 2003 to 2007.
