The 2003 Finlandia Trophy is an annual senior-level international figure skating competition held in Finland. It was held in Helsinki on October 10–12, 2003. Silvio Smalun
Silvio Smalun (born 2 November 1979 in Erfurt, Thuringia) is a German former competitive figure skater. He is the 2003 Bofrost Cup on Ice bronze medalist, the 2000 Ondrej Nepela Memorial bronze medalist, and a two-time (2001 and 2003) German national champion. He reached the free skate at seven ISU Championships, achieving his best result, 8th, at the 2006 Europeans. Career Silvio Smalun started skating at the age of 5. His first coach was Ilona Schindler. He trained alongside Stefan Lindemann. In 1995, he moved to Oberstdorf where he was coached by Michael Huth. Due to his studies, he trained also in Ulm without his coach. Smalun placed 8th at the 2006 European Championships, higher than Stefan Lindemann who was selected for the Olympics. Smalun retired from competitive skating in September 2006. Karen Venhuizen
Karen Venhuizen (born 4 April 1984) is a Dutch former competitive figure skater. She is the 2003 Triglav Trophy champion, the 2007 International Challenge Cup champion, and a nine-time (2000–08) Dutch national champion. She qualified for the free skate at seven ISU Championships – two World and five European Championships. Her best placement, 14th, came at the 2008 Europeans. Personal life Venhuizen was born 4 April 1984 in Zoetermeer, Netherlands. From 2001 to 2003, she suffered from anorexia nervosa. Annette Dytrt
Annette Dytrt, also Dytrtová, (born 7 September 1983) is a German former competitive figure skater who also competed internationally for the Czech Republic. She is the 1999 Czech national champion and the 2003–06 German national champion. Personal life Annette Dytrt was born in Landshut, Germany, the daughter of Czech immigrants. She moved to the Czech Republic with her elder sister, Veronika Dytrt, in 2001 but returned to Germany after a year and a half. Career She won the 1999 Czech National Championships under the name Annette Dytrtová. Dytrt won gold at the German National Figure Skating Championships between 2003 and 2006 and made numerous appearances at the European and World Figure Skating Championships. Elina Kettunen
Elina Kettunen (born 10 April 1981) is a Finnish former competitive figure skater. She is the 1999 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalist, the 2004 Finlandia Trophy bronze medalist, a three-time Nordic Figure Skating Championships, Nordic champion, and the 2001 Finnish Figure Skating Championships, Finnish national champion. She finished in the top fourteen at seven ISU Figure Skating Championships, ISU Championships. Idora Hegel (born 13 April 1983, in Zagreb) is a Croatian former competitive figure skater. She is the 2004 Golden Spin of Zagreb champion and a seven-time (2000–05, 2007) Croatian national champion. Miriam Manzano-Hammond (born 14 February 1975 in Sydney) is a former Australian competitive figure skater in ladies' singles. She is the 2003 Merano Cup champion, the 2002 Karl Schäfer Memorial silver medalist, the 2003 Finlandia Trophy bronze medalist, and a six-time Australian national champion. Alisa Drei
Alisa Drei (born 28 February 1978) is a Finnish former competitive figure skater. She finished in the top ten at seven European Championships. Life and career Drei began skating at the age of three in Moscow; she and her mother subsequently moved to Finland and received Finnish citizenship. Drei began competing internationally for Finland in 1994. She resided in Riihimäki and her coach was her mother, Elena Drei-Koskinen.
