2003 ASCAR Season
The 2003 ASCAR Season was the third season of United Kingdom-based NASCAR style stock car racing, originally known as ASCAR. From this season 'Days of Thunder' was adopted as a promotional brand inspired by the NASCAR based movie of the same name. It was used alongside the ASCAR brand for the 2003 season before taking over entirely from 2004. Teams and drivers Race calendar The season consisted of eight meetings with either one or two races taking place at each. The grid for the opening race of each meeting was set by a qualifying session with the second race grid being set by the finishing order of the first. The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, LLC (NASCAR) is an American auto racing sanctioning and operating company that is best known for stock car racing. It is considered to be one of the top ranked motorsports organizations in the world and is one of the largest spectator sports leagues in America. The privately owned company was founded by Bill France Sr. in 1948, and his son, Jim France, has been the CEO since August 2018. The company is headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida. Each year, NASCAR sanctions over 1,500 races at over 100 tracks in 48 US states, as well as in Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Europe. Andrew Kirkaldy (racing Driver)
Andrew Kirkaldy (born 1 March 1976 in St Andrews) is a British racing driver and managing director of McLaren GT. Career Single-seaters Kirkaldy began his career competing in karting, winning the Scottish Junior Championship in 1989 and the Scottish Senior Championship in 1993.
