Qatar Stars League
The Qatar Stars League (; abbreviated as QSL), known as Ooredoo Stars League for sponsorship reasons, is the top level football league in Qatar football league system. Contested by 12 teams, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Qatari Second Division (QSD), with the lowest ranked club at the end of the QSL season being demoted to make room for the promotion of the highest ranked QSD club of the season. The QSL season usually runs from September to April. The league's first season was played in 1963, although the first official season occurred in 1972. Jean Castaneda (born 20 March 1957) is a French former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Career Castaneda began his professional career with AS Saint-Étienne in 1975. He also played for the France national team. He earned nine caps in 1981–82 and was part of the French squad for the 1982 FIFA World Cup (Castaneda played one match against Poland). Dennis Oguta Oliech (; born 2 February 1985) is a Kenyan former professional footballer who played as a striker. As a member of the Kenya national team, he became his nation's second all-time goalscorer, behind William "Chege" Ouma (35 goals), with 34 goals before retiring from international football in 2016. Club career Mušović joined Hajduk Split from Sarajevo in 1966 for 13 million dinar after being persuaded by national teammate Vinko Cuzzi to come over to Dalmatia. Nebojša Vučković (; 13 May 1949 – 13 May 2019) was a Serbian football manager and player. Playing career Vučković spent three seasons with Vojvodina as a forward in the Yugoslav First League between 1974 and 1977. He also played abroad in Austria and France in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Managerial career During the late 1990s and early 2000s, Vučković worked with the youth teams at Qadsia in Kuwait. Ladislas Lozano (born 24 June 1952 as Ladislao Lozano Léon) is a former football player and manager. Born in Spain, he spent a majority of his career in France. He is best remembered for having guided amateur club Calais RUFC to the 2000 Coupe de France final. Managerial career On 22 January 2011, Lozano signed a six-month contract with Algerian club CA Bordj Bou Arreridj. However, he resigned from his position just a month later. Al-Khor Sports Club () is a Qatari professional sports club based in the city of Al Khor. Al-Khor SC is best known for its football team, which competes in the Qatar Stars League from the 2024-25 season again after a short absence of 2 years in Qatari Second Division. It plays its home games at Al-Khor Stadium. History Foundation Al-Khor was unofficially established in 1951 by oil workers to fulfill them with the appropriate facility to invest their energy after their participation with the multinational oil companies at the time.
