2002–03 Cypriot Fourth Division
The 2002–03 Cypriot Fourth Division was the 18th season of the Cypriot fourth-level football league. Orfeas Nicosia won their 1st title. Format Thirteen teams participated in the 2002–03 Cypriot Fourth Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first three teams were promoted to the 2003–04 Cypriot Third Division and the last two teams were relegated to regional leagues. Point system Teams received three points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. Cypriot Fourth Division
The Cypriot Fourth Division ( el, Τέταρτη Κατηγορία) was the fourth tier football league competition in Cyprus, ran by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league were promoted to the Cypriot Third Division, and the lowest finishing teams were relegated to the amateur leagues. History The Cypriot Fourth Division started the 1985–86 football season as the fourth level of the Cypriot football. The decision was taken by CFA on 23 July 1985. The first eight seasons the championship was split into three or four geographical groups, representing the Districts of Cyprus. From 1993–94 season until 2014–15 season, the championship was held as a single division. In all seasons, all the teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. 2002–03 Cypriot Cup
The 2002–03 Cypriot Cup was the 61st edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 54 clubs entered the competition. It began on 14 September 2002 with the first round and concluded on 17 May 2003 with the final which was held at GSP Stadium. Anorthosis won their 8th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating AEL 5–3 on penalties in the final. Format In the 2002–03 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division, the Cypriot Third Division and 12 of the 14 teams of the Cypriot Fourth Division. The competition consisted of seven rounds. In the first and in the second round each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of the one of the two teams, according to the draw results. Each tie winner was qualifying to the next round. If a match was drawn, extra time was following. If extra time was drawn, the winner was decided by penalty shoot-out. The 2002–03 Cypriot First Division was the 64th season of the Cypriot top-level football league. Omonia won their 19th title. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 2002–03 Cypriot First Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The last three teams were relegated to the 2003–04 Cypriot Second Division. The champions ensured their participation in the 2003–04 UEFA Champions League and the runners-up in the 2003–04 UEFA Cup. The teams had to declare their interest to participate in the 2003 UEFA Intertoto Cup before the end of the championship. At the end of the championship, the higher placed teams among the interested ones participated in the Intertoto Cup (if they had not secured their participation in any other UEFA competition). AOL Omonia Lakatamias
Lakatamia ( el, Λακατάμια ; tr, Lakadamya) is a southwestern suburb of Nicosia, Cyprus. In terms of population, Lakatamia municipality is the third largest municipality in Nicosia district and the fifth largest municipality in Cyprus (after Limassol, Strovolos, Nicosia and Larnaca). In 2011 Lakatamia had a population of 38,345. Due to the expansion of the Nicosia urban area, Lakatamia has grown from two small villages (Upper and Lower Lakatamia) into a sizeable suburb. Kaimakli ( el, Καϊμακλί ; tr, Kaymaklı or ) is a large northeastern suburb of Nicosia, Cyprus. Since 1968, it belongs to the Municipality of Nicosia. Its population in 2011 was 11,564. Etymology Kaimakli derives from the Turkish ''kaymak'' whose basic meaning is cream, especially clotted cream, and, by extension, the best of something. The term also applies to the froth on top of a cup of Turkish coffee. Rupert Gunnis states that the suburb took its name from a farm that produced clotted cream. ASPIS Pylas
Pyla (; ) is a village in Larnaca District, Cyprus. It is one of only four villages located within the United Nations Buffer Zone, the other three being Athienou, Troulloi and Deneia. Pyla is located in the eastern part of the island, adjacent to the British Sovereign Base Area of Dhekelia. From a legal point of view, it is administered as all other areas controlled by the government of the Republic of Cyprus, but policed by UN peacekeepers.
