2002 LPGA Tour
The 2002 LPGA Tour was the 53rd season since the LPGA Tour officially began in 1950. The season ran from February 28 to November 24, consisting of 32 official money events. Annika Sörenstam won the most tournaments, 11. She also led the money list with earnings of $2,863,904. She broke the LPGA Tour single-season earnings and scoring average (68.70) records she had set the previous season. The season saw the first tournament with a $3,000,000 purse, the U.S. Women's Open. Annika Sörenstam
Annika Charlotta Sörenstam (; born 9 October 1970) is a Swedish professional golfer regarded as one of the best female golfers in history. Before stepping away from competitive golf at the end of the 2008 season, she had won 96 international professional tournaments, making her the female golfer with the most wins to her name. She has won 72 official LPGA tournaments including ten women's majors, majors and 24 other tournaments internationally. In 2003, she joined an elite club, completing the career grand slam with victories at each of the four majors so recognized during her prime. Also in 2003, Sörenstam competed in the Bank of America Colonial tournament to become the first woman to play in a PGA Tour event since 1945. Janice C. Moodie (born 31 May 1973) is a Scottish professional golfer who plays mainly on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour but is also a member of the Ladies European Tour. Juli Inkster (nee Simpson; born June 24, 1960) is an American professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. With a professional career spanning 29 years to date, Inkster's 31 wins rank her second in wins among all active players on the LPGA Tour; she has over $14 million in career earnings. The Florida's Natural Charity Championship Hosted by Nancy Lopez was a golf tournament for professional female golfers that was part of the LPGA Tour from 1992 through 2006. For most of those years it was known as the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship. It was played annually at the Eagle's Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia.
