Hong Kong League Cup
Hong Kong Football Association League Cup () is an annual football competition contested by clubs in the top-tier Hong Kong domestic football league (currently Hong Kong Premier League). The cup was relaunched for the 2014–15 season after being discontinued in the 2012–13 season. Format *All teams in Hong Kong First Division League (until 2013–2014 season) / Hong Kong Premier League (starting from 2014 to 2015 season) are divided in the 2 groups (Group A & B) in first round stage. Each team plays against all other teams in the group once. The top two teams in each group qualify into the semi-finals. *In the semi-finals, the first team in Group A plays against second team in Group B while the first team in Group B plays against second team in Group A. *The winner of the semi-finals enter the final, which is usually held in Hong Kong Stadium. Happy Valley Athletic Association (), known simply as Happy Valley or HVAA, is a Hong Kong football club which currently competes in the Hong Kong First Division. They are historically one of the most successful football clubs in Hong Kong, having won the First Division six times and had consistently been in the top division, until they were relegated to the Second Division after the 2009–10 season. Golden Goal
The golden goal or golden point is a rule used in association football, lacrosse, field hockey, and ice hockey to decide the winner of a match (typically a knock-out match) in which scores are equal at the end of normal time. It is a type of sudden death. Under this rule, the game ends when a goal or point is scored; the team that scores that goal or point during extra time is the winner. Introduced formally in 1993, though with some history before that, the rule ceased to apply to most FIFA-authorized football games in 2004. The similar silver goal supplemented the golden goal between 2002 and 2004. The golden goal used to be played in NCAA matches up to 2021 but is still used in FIH sanctioned field hockey games. Double Flower Football Association () is a Hong Kong football club which plays in the Hong Kong Second Division. The club was very successful in 1990s in the then top-tier First Division under the name Instant-Dict (). Xiangxue Pharmaceutical was the name of several teams from mainland China that played in Hong Kong First Division League; they were all sponsored by Xiangxue Pharmaceutical. History In 2001–02 season, , a youth football club from Zhaoqing, entered the Hong Kong First Division League. It was replaced by the reserve team of Guangzhou F.C. in 2002–03 season, which was also sponsored by Xiangxue Pharmaceutical since January 2002, as Guangzhou Xiangxue.
