2001–02 Belarusian Cup
The 2001–02 Belarusian Cup was the 11th season of the Belarusian annual football cup competition. Contrary to the league season, it has been conducted in a fall-spring rhythm. The first games were played on August 15, 2001 and the final on 26 May 2002. Gomel won the Cup and qualified for the UEFA Cup Qualifying round. First round The draw was conducted on 31 July 2001. Four First League clubs ( Darida Minsk Raion, Zvezda-VA-BGU Minsk, Kommunalnik Slonim and Torpedo-Kadino Mogilev) were given a bye to the next round by a drawing of lots. The games were played on 15 August 2001. Round of 32 The draw was conducted on 16 August 2001. FC Gomel () is a Belarusian association football, football club based in the city of Gomel. Their home stadium is Central Stadium (Gomel), Central Stadium. History Teams from Gomel (usually city or raion selection or railway-based team ''Lokomotiv'', but not always) played in the Belarusian SSR championships since the early 1920s. In 1946, Byelorussian SSR league for one season becomes one of the zones of the USSR 3rd level league, and ''Lokomotiv Gomel'' became the first city team to play in the Soviet league. The modern Gomel team was founded in 1959 as ''Lokomotiv Gomel''. They played at the 2nd level of Soviet football between 1959 and 1968. FC Minsk Stadium
FC Minsk Stadium is a Association football, football stadium in Minsk, Belarus. It is a home ground of FC Minsk. The stadium holds 3,000 people. History The stadium was built at the same location as former Kamvolschik Stadium, which was most recently used for lower leagues, youth and reserve teams matches. By mid-2000s it had been largely abandoned and was slowly decaying. In the past, the stadium was used for Belarusian SSR league games and as an occasional substitute pitch for Belarusian Premier League and Belarusian Cup games by various clubs. Zhodino
Zhodzina or Zhodino is a town in Minsk Region, Belarus, located north-east of Minsk. The city covers an area of . In 2021, its population was 65,451. As of 2025, it has a population of 63,354.
