The 2001 Telenordia Swedish Open was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts in Båstad in Sweden and was part of the International Series of the 2001 ATP Tour. It was the 54th edition of the tournament and ran from 9 July until 15 July 2001. Andrea Gaudenzi won the singles title. ATP International Series
The ATP International Series (known from 1990 to 1999 as the ATP World Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally as part of the ATP Tour from 2000 to 2008. The series was renamed ATP Tour 250 in 2009. International Series offered players cash prizes (tournaments have purses from $416,000 to $1,000,000) and the ability to earn ATP ranking points. Clay Court
A clay court is one of the types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis is played. Båstad
Båstad () is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Båstad Municipality, Scania County, Sweden, with approximately 5,000 permanent residents. It is however one of Sweden's most typical summer resorts. The population is presumably more than twice as large between April and September, and even larger during July. Its municipality follows a similar pattern: some 15,000 permanent residents, but more than 30,000 during July. Andrea Gaudenzi
Andrea Gaudenzi (; born 30 July 1973) is an Italian former tennis player and the current chairman of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) since January 2020. Early life Gaudenzi was born in Faenza, Italy, in the province of Ravenna. He grew up in a tennis family. His grandfather founded a tennis club, his uncle was the fifth highest ranked player in Italy and his father also played. Gaudenzi started playing tennis at age 3. Gaudenzi graduated in law from University of Bologna and obtained an MBA with Honors at IUM. Karsten Braasch (born 14 July 1967) is a German former professional tennis player. His highest ATP singles ranking was world No. 38, which he reached in June 1994. His career-high in doubles was world No. 36, achieved in November 1997. He won six ATP doubles titles and made one ATP singles final in 1994. Bohdan Ulihrach (born 23 February 1975) is a former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. Career Ulihrach turned professional in 1993. He won his first top-level singles title in July 1995 at Prague, where he defeated Javier Sánchez in the final. His second followed three months later at Montevideo, where he beat Alberto Berasategui in the final. In 1996, Ulihrach was part of the Czech Republic team which finished runner-up at the World Team Cup. Simon Aspelin (; born 11 May 1974) is a former professional tennis doubles player from Sweden who turned professional in 1998. His success mainly came in doubles, winning 12 titles and reaching World No. 7 in March 2008. Andrew Kratzmann (born 3 November 1971 in Murgon, Queensland, Australia) is a former professional male tennis player from Australia.
