Kevin Steele
Kevin Steele (born March 17, 1958) is an American football coach and former player, currently serving as the defensive coordinator at the University of Miami. Steele has previously worked as defensive coordinator at Auburn, LSU, Clemson, and coached inside linebackers at Alabama. From 1999 to 2002, Steele served as the head football coach at Baylor University, compiling a record of 9–36 overall and 1–31 in the Big 12 Conference. Playing career Steele played three seasons of collegiate football as a linebacker. He spent his freshman year at Furman University before transferring to Tennessee, where he was a member of Johnny Majors' 1978 and 1979 squads. The 2001 Oklahoma Sooners Football team represented the University of Oklahoma in the 2001 NCAA Division I-A football season, the 107th season of Sooner football. The team was led by third-year head coach Bob Stoops. They played their home games at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. They were a charter member of the Big 12 conference. Conference play began with a win over the Kansas State Wildcats in Norman on September 29, and ended at home in an upset loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the annual Bedlam Series. The Sooners finished the regular season 10–2 (6–2 in Big 12), finishing second in the Big 12 South. The ''Fort Worth Star-Telegram'' is an American daily newspaper serving Fort Worth and Tarrant County, the western half of the North Texas area known as the Metroplex. It is owned by The McClatchy Company. History In May 1905, Amon G. Carter accepted a job as an advertising space salesman in Fort Worth. The 2001 Oklahoma State Cowboys football team represented Oklahoma State University in the 2001 NCAA Division I-A football season. Les Miles was in his first season at Oklahoma State as head coach. In the three years prior to Miles' arrival in Stillwater, the Cowboys finished 5–6, 5–6, and 3–8. Oklahoma State posted another losing record (4–7) in Miles' first season at the helm. The final game of the season was a game to remember for the Cowboys. The Cowboys, amidst a losing season, went to Norman, Oklahoma to battle their state rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners.
