Football Club Karpaty Lviv ( ) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Lviv. History Early years (1963–68) The team of Karpaty was founded on 18 January, 1963. In 1961 Silmash Lviv won the championship of Lviv Oblast but lost its promotional play-off against Naftovyk Drohobych to qualify for the Soviet Class B championship. Semen Yosypovych Altman ( ua, Семен Йосипович Альтман, born 21 April 1946 in Chuhuiv) is a Ukrainian football coach and former goalkeeper. He is of Jewish ancestry. Semen's son, Hennadiy Altman is also a goalkeeper and has followed his father to many of the teams Semen has coached over the years. Football Club Mariupol ( uk, Футбольний клуб "Маріуполь" ) was a Ukrainian professional football club based in Mariupol, that competed in the Ukrainian Premier League. Viktor Prokopenko
Viktor Prokopenko ( uk, Віктор Прокопенко) (24 October 1944 – 18 August 2007) was a Ukrainian football (soccer) player and coach who played in GDR and Ukrainian SSR including teams of the Soviet Top League and later worked as a coach in Russia and Ukraine. Career He was born in Zhdanov, Ukrainian SSR, which now known as Mariupol, Ukraine. In 1975, he graduated from the Odessa State Pedagogical Institute of Ushynsky and later the Moscow Higher School of Coaches. Prokopenko was the first ever manager of the Ukraine national football team, and authored ''Flexibility, Strength, Endurance'', a popular book on stretching. Prokopenko was elected to the Ukrainian parliament for the Party of Regions as no.45 on their election list in the 2006 Ukrainian parliamentary election.
