The 2000–01 Maltese FA Trophy (known as the Rothmans Trophy for sponsorship reasons) was the 63rd season since its establishment. The competition started on 24 December 2000 and ended on 17 May 2001 with the final, which Valletta won 3-0 against Birkirkara. Sliema ( ) is a town located on the northeast coast of Malta in the Northern Harbour District. It is a major residential and commercial area and a centre for shopping, bars, dining, and café life. It is also the most densely populated town on the island. Lining the coastline is a promenade known as the Sliema Front that has become the ideal spot for joggers and walkers as well as a prolific meeting place for locals during the summer season. Tarxien ( ) is a town in the Port region of Malta, seat of the Port Regional Council. Its population stood at 8,583 in March 2014. The town is most notable for the Tarxien Temples, a megalithic temple complex which is among the oldest freestanding structures on Earth. It forms part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Etymology The etymology of the village may be a corruption of ''Tirix'', meaning a large stone, similar to those used for the village's noted temples. The village motto is ''Tyrii Genure Coloni'' ("The Phoenicians created me"). Demographics Tarxien's population stood at 7,724 villagers in December 2008, which increased to 8,583 by March 2014. Brian Said (born 15 May 1973) is a Maltese football manager and former player who manages Maltese First Division side St. Andrews, and captain of the Luxol St Andrew's Veteran Team, where he plays as a defender. Club career St. Andrews Brian Said started his career with St. Andrews, playing regularly in the first team from the 1991–92 season. Early in his career he was used both as a midfielder and as a striker (association football), striker. In total he recorded 51 appearances with St. Andrews and scored ten goals. Birkirkara Said spent the 1994–95 season on loan with Birkirkara F.C., Birkirkara, where he made 17 appearances and scored on one occasion.
