2000–01 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2000–01 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the fourth season of the ISU Junior Grand Prix, a series of international junior level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the Grand Prix of Figure Skating, which was for senior-level skaters. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's single skating, singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The top skaters from the series met at the Junior Grand Prix Final. Competitions The locations of the JGP events change yearly. ISU Junior Grand Prix
The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating (titled the ISU Junior Series in the 1997–98 season) is a series of international junior-level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The series was inaugurated in 1997 to complement the senior-level ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters earn qualifying points at each Junior Grand Prix event and the six highest-ranking qualifiers meet at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final, which is held concurrently with the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. Maxim Shabalin
Maxim Andreyevich Shabalin (russian: Максим Андреевич Шабалин; born 25 January 1982) is a Russian former competitive ice dancer. He and partner Oksana Domnina are the 2010 Olympic bronze medalists, the 2009 World Champions, the 2008 & 2010 European Champions, the 2007 Grand Prix Final champions, and three-time (2005, 2007, 2010) Russian national champions. Career Early career Shabalin began skating aged four in Samara – although pushed into the sport by his parents, he grew to enjoy it by the age of 11. He began competing in ice dancing aged 11 or 12. Elena Khaliavina
Elena Dostatni, née Khalyavina (russian: Елена Достатни (Халявина), born December 8, 1983) is a former competitive ice dancer. Competing for Russia as Elena Khalyavina with partner Maxim Shabalin, she is three times Russian Junior National Championship medalist (bronze in 1999,silver in 2000 and gold in 2001) she won two medals at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final (silver in 2000 and gold in 2001) and two medals at the World Junior Championships (bronze in 2001, silver in 2002). Career Elena Khalyavina began skating when she was six years old in Kirov. She skated with Alexandr Glyhih for seven years through the senior level. Zhang Hao (; ; born July 6, 1984) is a Chinese retired pair skater. With current partner Yu Xiaoyu, he is the 2016–17 Grand Prix Final silver medalist, 2017 Asian Winter Games champion and 2018 Chinese national champion. With former partner Peng Cheng, he is the 2015 Four Continents silver medalist. Zhang Dan
Zhang Dan (; born 4 October 1985) is a Chinese former pair skater. With Zhang Hao, she is the 2006 Olympic silver medalist, a four-time (2005 bronze, 2006, 2008, 2009 silver) World medalist, and a two-time (2005, 2010) Four Continents champion. Kristina Oblasova
Kristina Alexandrovna Oblasova (russian: Кристина Александровна Обласова; born 11 September 1984, in Moscow) is a Russian former competitive figure skater. She is the 2001 World Junior champion and the 2004 Russian national bronze medalist. Career Oblasova began learning to skate in 1989. She trained mainly in singles, except for a brief interlude at age 10 when she trained in pairs with partner Stanislav Zakharov. A hip injury kept Oblasova off the ice for seven months in the 1997–98 season. She debuted on the ISU Junior Grand Prix circuit the following season. Parker Blair Pennington (born September 13, 1984) is an American figure skater. He won silver medals at the 2006 Nebelhorn Trophy and 2007 Finlandia Trophy, three gold medals on the JGP series, and bronze at the 2002 JGP Final. Pennington won U.S. national titles on four levels—junior (2001), novice (1998), intermediate (1996), and juvenile (1995).
