1st Mirchi Music Awards
The 1st Mirchi Music Awards, presented by the Radio Mirchi, honoured the best of Hindi music from the year 2008. The ceremony was held on 28 March 2009 at the Hotel Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai and was hosted by Shaan and Tulip Joshi. There were many performances, including those by Dominique Cerejo, Benny Dayal, Manohari Singh, Bipasha Basu, Shreya Ghoshal, Genelia D'Souza, Kunal Ganjawala, Shahid Kapoor and Prachi Shah, the winner of the Tata Indicom Talent Hunt. Awards were given out in 17 different categories. ''Jodhaa Akbar'' won a leading seven awards including Song of the Year. Album of the Year was won by film '' Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na''. Radio Mirchi
Radio Mirchi ("''Mirchi"'' in Hindi meaning red chilli), also known as 98.3 Mirchi, is a nationwide network of private FM radio stations in India. It is owned by the ENIL, EntertainmentNetwork India Ltd (ENIL), which is one of the subsidiaries of The Times Group. The tagline of Radio Mirchi is "Mirchi Sunnewaale Always Khush!" Manohari Singh
Manohari Singh (8 March 1931 – 13 July 2010) was an Indian music director, saxophonist and was the main arranger of seminal film composer R. D. Burman. He worked with Basudeb Chakraborty as a music composer, the duo also popularly known as Basu-Manohari. Early life Manohari Singh was born in a Nepalese Bhusal family in Kolkata. His father and uncle used to play in brass bands. In 1942, he joined the brass band at Bata Shoe Company, Bata Nagar in Kolkata, under its Hungarian conductor Joseph Newman. When Newman left in 1945 to join His Master's Voice, Manohari followed. From classical music, he started playing Hindi and Bengali songs for the His Master's Voice orchestra, since Newman arranged music for many composers like Kamal Dasgupta, S. D. Bela Shende
Bela Shende is an Indian playback singer. She performed several songs in Bollywood and other film Indian industries. "Mann Mohana" from the film ''Jodhaa Akbar'', "Su Che" from the film '' What's Your Raashee?'', "Wajle Ki Baara" and " Apsara Aali" from ''Natarang'' are some of her famous songs. Javed Ali
Javed Ali is an Indian playback singer who predominantly sings in Hindi. He has also sung in various Indian languages including Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Abbas Tyrewala
Abbas Tyrewala (born 15 May 1974) is an Indian screenwriter, lyricist and director. After making his mark as a screenwriter and dialogue writer in the early 2000s, with award-winning films such as ''Maqbool'' (2003) and ''Munnabhai M.B.B.S.'' (2003). Javed Akhtar
Javed Akhtar (born 1945) is an Indian screenwriter, lyricist and poet. Known for his work in Hindi cinema, he has won five National Film Awards, and received the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Bhushan in 2007, two of India's highest civilian honours. He is considered as one of the greatest screenwriters in the history of Hindi Cinema. Kunal Ganjawala
Kunal Ganjawala (born 14 April 1972) is an Indian playback singer whose songs are mostly featured in Hindi, Bengali, and Kannada films. He has also sung in Marathi, and other official languages of India. Kunal began his career by singing jingles.
