19th Meril Prothom Alo Awards
The 19th Meril Prothom Alo Awards ceremony, presented by Prothom Alo took place on 21 April 2017 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka, Bangladesh as a part of 2016 film awards season. Facts and figures This year Amitabh Reza Chowdhury received best film director award for Aynabaji. Shakib Khan secured his eighth award for Public Choice best film actor and this was fifth in a row from 2010. Nusrat Imroz Tisha in Public Choice best TV actress category for ''Ekti Taalgachher Golpo''. Dilshad Nahar Kona got the awards in best female singer category again and that was double Hat-trick for her since 2009. Nominees and winners A total of 16 awards were given at the ceremony. Mosharraf Karim
K M Mosharraf Hossain (born 22 August 1971), known by his stage-name Mosharraf Karim ( bn, মোশাররফ করিম), is a Bangladeshi actor, works both in films and television. He began working as a theater artist in late the 1980s with " Nattokendro", where he has played lead roles in many popular theatre productions for 16 years continuously. Bachsas ( Bangladesh Cholochitra Sangbadik Samity) Awards was introduced in 1972 to encourage the fledgling film industry of the country. Bangladesh Cholochchitra Shangbadik Samity (Bangladesh Cine-Journalists' Association) gave out their most prestigious awards to outstanding performers in film, television, music, dance and theatre. Syeda Tuhin Ara Karim ( bn, অপি করিম), known as Aupee Karim, is a National Film Award-winning Bangladeshi actress, model, architect, and dancer.
