The 1999–2000 Vyshcha Liha season was the 9th since its establishment. FC Dynamo Kyiv were the defending champions. Anatoliy Byshovets
Anatoliy Fyodorovich Byshovets (russian: Анатолий Фёдорович Бышовец, uk, Анато́лій Фе́дорович Бишове́ць; born 23 April 1946) is a Soviet and Russian football manager of Ukrainian origin and former Soviet international striker. He played his entire professional career with club side Dynamo Kyiv. He won Olympic gold as a coach with the Soviet team at the 1988 Summer Olympics. He was also a manager of the USSR, Russia, and South Korea national teams. At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, he managed the South Korean U-23 team. He is one of the most successful modern Russian coaches. Player Byshovets played for the youth team of FC Dynamo Kyiv, then for their senior team in 1963-1973. Byshovets won the Soviet championship four times (1966, 1967, 1968, 1971) and the Soviet Cup twice (1964, 1966) with them. Byshovets scored four goals for the Soviet Union in the 1970 FIFA World Cup. Viktor Prokopenko
Viktor Prokopenko ( uk, Віктор Прокопенко) (24 October 1944 – 18 August 2007) was a Ukrainian football (soccer) player and coach who played in GDR and Ukrainian SSR including teams of the Soviet Top League and later worked as a coach in Russia and Ukraine. Career He was born in Zhdanov, Ukrainian SSR, which now known as Mariupol, Ukraine. In 1975, he graduated from the Odessa State Pedagogical Institute of Ushynsky and later the Moscow Higher School of Coaches. Prokopenko was the first ever manager of the Ukraine national football team, and authored ''Flexibility, Strength, Endurance'', a popular book on stretching. Prokopenko was elected to the Ukrainian parliament for the Party of Regions as no.45 on their election list in the 2006 Ukrainian parliamentary election. Football Club Metalurh Donetsk ( uk, Футбо́льний клуб «Металу́рг» Доне́цьк, ) was a Ukrainian professional football club based in Donetsk that went bankrupt in July 2015.
