Primera Divisió
The Primera Divisió (First Division) or Lliga Multisegur Assegurances for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of men's football in Andorra. The league was launched in 1995 sponsored by the local federation (Andorran Football Federation) which was created just one year before. Until then, clubs had played since 1970 in an amateur league without a structure or affiliation with any official institution. Since affiliation to UEFA and FIFA in 1996, Andorran clubs are able to compete in the UEFA competitions. Until 2015 the league was known as ''Lliga Grup Becier'' and during 2016 ''Lliga Grup Sant Eloi''. It was renamed in 2017 as Lliga Multisegur Assegurances for sponsorship reasons. All the teams in the league play in the same stadiums owned by the federation. The same occurs in all other Andorran competitions, such as the Copa Constitució and Supercopa. Constel·lació Esportiva
Constel·lació Esportiva was an Andorran football club from Andorra La Vella. The team began play in the Andorran First Division ( Campionat de Lliga) in 1998 and dominated the league in 2000, beating FC Encamp 6–0 in the championship. That summer, the Andorran Football Federation accused the team of trying to buy players from other teams, there were financial irregularities, and the team did not want to divide its winnings from the UEFA cup with the league. The team was kicked out of the First Division for seven years. Casa Estrella Del Benfica
Futbol Club Casa Estrella del Benfica was an Andorran football club from La Massana. They had played in the top flight of Andorra twice, in the 2008/09 and 2010/11 season. In 2014 the club was not registered in the Second Division for the 2014/15 season being out of competition and dissolved the same year. Like FC Lusitanos the club CE Benfica, founded in 2003, reflected its Portuguese identity. The club also had a good relation with Penya Encarnada d'Andorra. Colors and badge As the colors and badge are related with the Portuguese club S.L. Benfica. The traditional club color was red and the badge was a minor variation of the Benfica's sports club. 2000–01 UEFA Cup
Liverpool won the 2000–01 UEFA Cup with a golden goal in the final against Alavés for their third title in the competition. It completed a cup treble for the club, as they also won the FA Cup and the League Cup that season. The conclusion of the tournament by a golden goal is the only instance in any of the major European club cup competitions until the abolition of the rule in 2002. Galatasaray could not defend their title as they automatically qualified for the 2000–01 UEFA Champions League and also reached the knockout stage. English clubs had been banned from European competitions between 1985 and 1990 as a result of the Heysel disaster, and Liverpool were the first English side of the post-Heysel era to win the trophy. FC Santa Coloma
FC Santa Coloma is an Andorran football team based in the village of Santa Coloma, in the parish of Andorra la Vella. The club currently plays in Primera Divisió, and is its current champion and most successful team with thirteen titles. It is also the most successful team in the Copa Constitució, winning it ten times. Inter Club d'Escaldes is an Andorran football club based in Escaldes-Engordany. The club currently plays in Primera Divisió. History Inter Club d'Escaldes was founded in Escaldes-Engordany in 1991 and being founder member of Primera Divisió in 1995, the Premier League of Andorra. FC Encamp is an Andorran football club based in Encamp. Founded in 1950, it is the oldest football club of the Andorran First Division. The club currently plays in Primera Divisió. History FC Encamp was founded in 1950 being the dean of the Andorran premier league and the second football club created in the pyrenean country of Andorra after FC Andorra (founded in 1942).
