Serie A De Ecuador
The Liga Pro Ecuador Serie A, simply known as the Liga Pro or the Serie A (or the Ecuadorian Serie A to distinguish it from the Italian Serie A and the Brazilian Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Série A), or as Liga Pro Ecuabet for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Ecuador and the highest level of the Ecuadorian football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates a system of promotion and relegation with the Ecuadorian Serie B, Serie B, the lower level of the Primera Categoría. The season runs from February to December and is usually contested in multiple stages. While initially not a league, the Serie A has its roots in the national championship between the top teams of Ecuador's two regional leagues. For the first nine editions, teams from Guayaquil and Quito qualified to the competition through their professional regional leagues. Néider Yesid Morantes Londoño (born August 3, 1975), known as Neider Morantes, is a Colombian retired footballer. Club career Morantes made his professional debut with Atlético Nacional in 1994. In April 1997, he won his first title with ''Los Verdolagas'', lifting the Copa Interamericana after beating Deportivo Saprissa. In 1998, he was part of the team that won the Copa Merconorte, defeating Deportivo Cali 4-1 on aggregate. Morantes scored the only goal of the second leg in the closing minutes of the match. Morantes was also a part of the team that won the 1999 league title. For the 2000–01 season, he transferred to Atlante of the Liga MX, where he scored 2 goals in 25 appearances. Jaime Iván Kaviedes Llorenty (Greek: Ιβάν Καβιέδες; born 24 October 1977) is an Ecuadorian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Club career Kaviedes rose to fame after scoring 43 goals in one season for Emelec in the 1998 Ecuadorian league. This led to a move to Perugia in the Italian Serie A in January 1999 for a transfer fee of 4 million USD (or 6 billion lire at the time).
