1998 Ukrainian Cup Final
The 1998 Ukrainian Cup Final is a football match that took place at the NSC Olimpiyskiy on May 31, 1998. The match was the 7th Ukrainian Cup Final and it was contested by both Kyivan clubs FC Dynamo Kyiv and FC CSKA Kyiv. The 1998 Ukrainian Cup Final was the seventh to be held in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. Dynamo won by two goals netted by Andriy Shevchenko on the 1st and 33rd minutes. CSKA managed to answer with a single tally from Novokhatsky on the 68th minute, which was scored on the rebound right after the missed penalty kick. Shovkovskyi managed to deflect the penalty kick from Oliynyk. There also were several yellow cards issued at this game, all of them to ''Army'' players: Semchuk, Hohil, and Kripak. 1997–98 Ukrainian Cup
The Ukrainian Cup 1997–98 was the seventh annual edition of Ukraine's football knockout competition since the country's independence. This edition of the Cup started with a preliminary round of few pairs and three qualification knockout rounds before the first round of the competition. Two legs rounds were extended to the main portion of competition as well as some qualification rounds. Amateur clubs were represented by the winner of Ukrainian Amateur Cup only. The cup holder Shakhtar Donetsk was eliminated on away goal rule by Metalurh Donetsk in Round of 16. FC Shakhtar Donetsk
Football Club Shakhtar Donetsk ( uk, Футбольний клуб «Шахтар» Донецьк , short nickname "miners") is a Ukrainian professional football club from the city of Donetsk. In 2014, due to the War in Donbass, the club was forced to move to Lviv, and had played matches in Lviv (2014–2016) and in Kharkiv (2017–2020) whilst having its office headquarters and training facilities in Kyiv. In May 2020, Shakhtar started to play home matches at NSC Olimpiyskiy in Kyiv. Shakhtar has appeared in several European competitions and is often a participant in the UEFA Champions League. Andriy Husin
Andriy Leonidovych Husin ( ua, Андрій Леонідович Гусін; 11 December 1972 – 17 September 2014) was a Ukrainian professional football player and coach. He played in the Ukraine national team, and was one of Ukraine's most capped players. He was a member of their squad at the 2006 World Cup. After his retirement, he went to become a coach at various clubs, including Dynamo Kyiv. He died in a motorcycle accident at the age of 41. Vladyslav Viktorovych Vashchuk ( ua, Владислав Вікторович Ващук; born on 2 January 1975) is a retired Ukrainian football defender who last played for FC Volyn Lutsk. Vashchuk was also a member of the Ukrainian national football team playing 63 times. He mainly played in the centre back position and could also be utilized as a sweeper. Oleksandr Borysovych Holovko ( uk, Олександр Борисович Головко; born 6 January 1972) is a Ukrainian former footballer who played as a centre-back and current manager of Dinaz Vyshhorod.
