1998 J.League
The 1998 J.League season was the sixth season of the J.League. The league began in March 21 and ended in November 14. For this year, the division was contested by 18 teams. Júbilo Iwata won the 1st stage and Kashima Antlers won the 2nd stage. Kashima Antlers won the J.League title after winning both matches in the Suntory Championship. J1 League
The , the J.League or the for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Japan and the highest level of the Japanese football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the J2 League. Both the J1 and J2 leagues are operated by the . Johannes Martinus Maria Versleijen (born 29 December 1955), better known as Jan Versleijen, is a Dutch professional association football coach who last managed South African PSL side Ajax Cape Town. Frédéric Antonetti (born 19 August 1961) is a French professional football manager and former player who was most recently the manager of French club Strasbourg. is a former Japanese football player and manager. He played for Japan national team. He also worked as a football commentator. Club career Matsuki was born in Chuo, Tokyo on November 28, 1957. was a Japanese football player and manager. He played once for the Japan national team. Club career Ueki was born in Kawasaki on September 13, 1954. After graduating from Nihon University, he joined Fujita Industries in 1977. The club won the league champions in 1977, 1979 and 1981. The club also won 1977 and 1979 Emperor's Cup. was a Japanese football player and manager. He played for Japan national team. Club career Mori was born in Fukuyama on November 24, 1943. He played for Waseda University. He won 1963 and 1966 Emperor's Cup at university. After graduating from Waseda University, he joined Mitsubishi Motors (later ''Urawa Reds'') in 1967.
