1998 CFL Season
The 1998 CFL season is considered to be the 45th season in modern-day Canadian football, although it is officially the 41st Canadian Football League season. The league also made a sponsorship deal with Adidas, which made them the official footwear, practice wear, and sport glove provider of the CFL. Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a professional Canadian football team based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. They are currently members of the East Division (CFL), East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Tiger-Cats play their home games at Tim Hortons Field, Hamilton Stadium. Kelvin Anderson
Kelvin Anderson (born February 4, 1972) is an American former professional football player. As a running back, he rushed for over 1,000 yards in eight consecutive seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL), a league record. He won the CFL's Grey Cup championship twice, as a member of the Calgary Stampeders, in 1998 and 2001. Anderson played football at New Madrid County Central High School. He played college football at Southeast Missouri State where he earned the nickname "Earthquake". Anderson's eight consecutive 1,000 yard seasons began in 1996 with the Calgary Stampeders. In 2000, he played in 15 games for Calgary, and ran for 1,048 yards and scored six touchdowns. Grey Cup's Most Valuable Canadian
The Dick Suderman Trophy () for the Grey Cup's Most Valuable Canadian is awarded annually to the Canadian player deemed to have the best performance in the Grey Cup game, the championship of the Canadian Football League. This award is presented before the Grey Cup trophy is presented. The winner does not necessarily have to play for the Grey Cup winning team in order to qualify. The award was introduced at the 1971 Grey Cup, and the first winner was Dick Suderman, a Canadian defensive end. A year later, just six weeks before the playing of the 1972 Grey Cup, Suderman collapsed and died from a brain hemorrhage after playing a regular season game; the trophy was subsequently renamed in his honour. Vince Danielsen (born November 26, 1971) is a former professional Canadian football receiver for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League from 1994 to 2001. Jeffrey Jason Garcia (born February 24, 1970) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). After attending high school and junior college in Gilroy, California, Garcia played college football for the San Jose State Spartans.
