1998 Brisbane Broncos Season
The 1998 Brisbane Broncos season was the eleventh in the history of Brisbane's National Rugby League premiership team, the Brisbane Broncos. Coached by Wayne Bennett and captained by Allan Langer, they participated in the newly formed National Rugby League's 1998 premiership and posted their three biggest ever wins in rounds 5, 7 and 15 before finishing the regular season as minor premiers. The Broncos then won the 1998 NRL Grand Final, capturing their fourth premiership in seven seasons. 1997 Brisbane Broncos Season
The 1997 Brisbane Broncos season was the tenth in the History of the Brisbane Broncos, history of the Brisbane Broncos club. This season was unique in that they participated in the Australian Super League (Australia), Super League's 1997 Telstra Cup premiership and 1997 World Club Championship, winning both competitions. Season summary The Broncos again won their first seven matches, before finally losing to the Penrith Panthers in round 8. Brisbane won their final three regular season games to capture their second minor premiership. In the major semi-final against Cronulla the Broncos thrashed the Sharks to move into the Super League Grand Final to be played at their home venue, Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre, ANZ Stadium. 2000 NRL Season
The 2000 NRL season was the 93rd season of professional rugby league football in Australia and the third to be run by the National Rugby League. Fourteen teams competed from February until August for the NRL Premiership, culminating in the 2000 NRL Grand final between the Brisbane Broncos and the Sydney Roosters. Belmore Oval
Belmore Sports Ground, formerly known as Belmore Oval, is a multi-purpose stadium in Belmore, New South Wales, Australia. The park covers and from 1951 has contained the Belmore Bowling Recreation Club green. It is close to Belmore railway station. The wooden spoon is the imaginary and ironic "award" which is said to be won by the team finishing in last place in the Australian Football League.
