Süper Lig
The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), also known as Trendyol Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Turkey and the highest level of the Turkish football league system. In the 2023–2024 season, twenty clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promotion and relegation, promoted from, and another four relegated to the TFF First League, 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. Run by the Turkish Football Federation, the league succeeded the Turkish Football Championship and the Turkish National Division, National Division, both being former top-level national competitions. The Süper Lig is currently 9th in the UEFA coefficient ranking of leagues based on club performances in European competitions over the last five years. Elvir Baljić
Elvir Baljić (born 8 July 1974) is a Bosnian-Turkish professional football manager and former player. As a player, Baljić's biggest success was winning the UEFA Champions League with Spanish giant Real Madrid in the 1999–2000 season. Apart from the UEFA Champions League success, he also won the Turkish Süper Lig with Fenerbahçe in the 2000–01 season. After ending his playing career, he became an assistant manager of Safet Sušić at the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, with whom he qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He was then, the manager of back then TFF First League club Karabükspor in 2015. After Karabükspor, Baljić was also an assistant of Sušić at Alanyaspor in 2017 and at Akhisarspor in 2018. Oktay Derelioğlu (born 17 December 1975) is a Turkish football manager and former player. Derelioğlu played as a forward and is notable for his goal for the Turkey national team against Belgium during the qualifying rounds of the 1998 FIFA World Cup. The goal started at midfield before Derelioğlu jinked past six Belgian defenders, one of them twice, mimicking Diego Maradona's "Goal of the Century". Derelioğlu holds the record for most goals in European competitions for Beşiktaş with 14. Elvir Bolić (; born 10 October 1971) is a Bosnian former professional footballer who played as a striker. He spent most of his 18-year professional career in Turkey, appearing for seven clubs including Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. He also played three years in Spain, with Rayo Vallecano. Bolić represented Bosnia and Herzegovina during one full decade. Vanspor A.Ş. was a football team of Van in eastern Turkey. History They played in the Süper Lig, top division of Turkish football, between 1994 and 1998, playing once more in 1999–2000 season. After relegation from the first division, Vanspor turned to an economic crisis and were relegated from the 2nd and 3rd divisions between 2000 and 2002.
