1995 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The 1995 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 105th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The championship began on 16 September 1995 and ended on 15 October 1995. Toomevara were the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Boherlahan-Dualla at the semi-final stage. On 15 October 1995, Nenagh Éire Óg won the championship after a 2–25 to 2–08 defeat of Boherlahan-Dualla in the final at Semple Stadium. It remains their only championship title. South Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The South Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Clonmel Oil South Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the South Tipperary Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1907 for senior hurling teams in South Tipperary, Ireland. The series of games begin in April, with the championship culminating with the final in August. The championship has always been played using a knock-out format. The South Tipperary Championship was, until recent times, an integral part of the wider Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship. The winners and runners-up of the South Tipperary Championship joined their counterparts from the other three divisions to contest the county championship quarter-finals. The 1953 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 63rd staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The championship began on 30 August 1953 and ended on 4 October 1953. Thurles Sarsfields were the defending champions. On 4 October 1953, Borris-Ileigh won the championship after a 4–08 to 4–04 defeat of Boherlahan in the final at Thurles Sportsfield. Tommy Dunne
Tomás Dunne (born 21 May 1974) is an Irish hurling coach and former player who is from Toomevara, County Tipperary in Ireland. He is the current coach of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Dunne enjoyed a distinguished playing career with Toomevara GAA club and at inter-county level with Tipperary. He was a midfielder on the latter team from 1993 until 2005 and collected one All-Ireland title as captain, two Munster titles, three National Hurling League titles and three All-Star awards. Immediately after retiring from inter-county and club activity, Dunne became involved in team management. He was a selector on the Tipperary minor team that captured the All-Ireland title in that grade in 2007. Philip O'Dwyer
Philip O'Dwyer (born 1976) is an Irish former hurler. At club level, he played with Boherlahan–Dualla and also lined out at inter-county level with various Tipperary teams. Career O'Dwyer first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Boherlahan–Dualla club, winning Tipperary MBHC and MAHC medals in 1991 and 1993 respectively. He later studied at University College Cork and was part of the college's Fitzgibbon Cup-winning team in 1996. O'Dwyer also won a Tipperary SHC medal that season, after lining out in the 1–16 to 2–12 defeat of Toomevara in the final. At inter-county level, O'Dwyer first played for Tipperary as part of the minor team that won the Munster MHC title in 1993. John Heffernan (hurler)
John Heffernan (born 27 December 1963) is an Irish retired hurler. His league and championship career with the Tipperary senior team lasted four seasons from 1986 to 1990. Early life Born and raised in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Heffernan played hurling during his schooldays at Nenagh CBS. He was part of the school's senior team that played in the Dr Harty Cup competition. Club career Heffernan played his club hurling and Gaelic football with Nenagh Éire Óg. He had success as a Gaelic footballer in 1988 when he won a Tipperary IFC after a 2-04 to 0-09 win over Ballyporeen. Heffernan later won three North Tipperary SHC medals between 1992 and 1998. He scored 1-03 when Nenagh Éire Óg beat Boherlahan–Dualla by 2-25 to 2-08 to win their first ever Tipperary SHC title in 1995. John Leahy (hurler)
John Leahy (born 16 September 1969 in Mullinahone) is a former Irish sportsperson. He played senior hurling with the Tipperary inter-county team from 1988 until 2003. He also represented Tipperary in all grades in Gaelic football. Early life and private life John Leahy was born in Mullinahone, County Tipperary in 1969. He was educated locally in Mullinahone N.S., Ballingarry Presentation Convent and Killenaule V.S. He later worked for United Beverages Group in Kilkenny. Cashel King Cormacs GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Cashel, County Tipperary in Ireland. They play their games in Leahy Park, on the Clonmel Road in Cashel.
