The 1995 Sudirman Cup was the fourth tournament of the World Mixed Team Badminton Championships. It was held from May 17 to May 20, 1995 in Lausanne, Switzerland. Sudirman Cup
The Sudirman Cup is an international badminton mixed team competition contested by member countries of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), the sport's global governing body. The championship has been awarded every two years since the 1989 Sudirman Cup, inaugural tournament in 1989. It used to be held at the same venue for the BWF World Championships, World Championships in the same year until the International Badminton Federation (now the BWF) decided to split the two tournaments starting from 2003. There are five matches in every Sudirman Cup tie which consists of men and women's singles, men and women's doubles and mixed doubles. The cup is named after Dick Sudirman, a former Indonesian people, Indonesian badminton player and the founder of the Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI). Christopher John Hunt (born 1 December 1968) is a retired badminton player from England. Who has won many commonwealth titles. Personal life Chris Hunt was born on 1 December 1968 in Bolton, England. He has one brother. In 2000 he met Liza Giambattista. In 2007 Hunt had a daughter called Gabriella Giambattista-Hunt. Then in 2018 Hunt and Giambattista got married after 18 years of being together. Career Hunt won the gold medal at the European Championships in the men's doubles with Simon Archer in 1994 and 1998. In 1996 they won the bronze medal. Minarti Timur (; 24 March 1968) is a former Indonesian badminton player who is affiliated with PB Djarum since 1987. Career Though she won women's singles at the 1990 Dutch Open, Minarti was primarily a doubles player, particularly excelling in mixed doubles. During the 1990s and the early 2000s (decade), she won numerous international mixed doubles titles, the majority with Tri Kusharjanto but also, later, with Bambang Suprianto. Tri Kusharjanto (born 18 January 1974) is a badminton player from Indonesia. His name also appears variously as ''Tri Kusharyanto, Trikus Harjanto, Trikus Heryanto, and Trikus Haryanto''. Jang Hye-ock
Jang Hye-ock (; born 9 February 1977) is a badminton player from South Korea who affiliate with Chungnam Provincial office team. She won the gold medal at the 1995 IBF World Championships in women's doubles, playing with Gil Young-ah. At 18 years, 3 months, and 19 days, she was the youngest player ever to win a World Championship title, in any discipline. The same year she won the 1995 All England Open Badminton Championships. Kang Kyung-jin (Hangul: 강경진; Hanja: 姜京珍; born 24 March 1973) is a former badminton player and coach from South Korea. He was the men's doubles champion at the 1997 All England Open and 1998 Asian Championships. He competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics. Bang Soo-hyun
Bang Soo-hyun (Hangul: 방수현; Hanja: 方銖賢; born 13 September 1972) is a former badminton player from South Korea who was one of the world's leading women's singles players of the 1990s. She was a contemporary and rival of Indonesia's Susi Susanti and China's Ye Zhaoying and recorded wins over both in major badminton tournaments. Gil Young-ah
Gil Young-ah (born April 11, 1970 in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do) is a former female badminton player from South Korea. At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, she won the bronze medal in the women's doubles together with Shim Eun-jung. Four years later, at the Atlanta Olympics, she won the gold medal in the mixed doubles together with Kim Dong-moon and the silver medal in the women's doubles together with Jang Hye-ock. Gil retired from badminton after the 1996 Olympics and became an assistant coach of the Samsung Electro-Mechanics badminton team. In 2011, Gil became the first woman to be appointed head coach of a professional team in Korea. She was made Head Coach of the Samsung Electromechanics Women's Badminton Team. Kim Dong-moon (Hangul: 김동문, Hanja: 金東文; born 22 September 1975) is a retired South Korean badminton player who won major titles between the mid-1990s and the mid-2000s (decade), and widely regarded as one of finest men's doubles and mixed doubles players in badminton history. Kim captured the world attention when he unexpectedly winning the gold medal in the mixed doubles event with Gil Young-ah at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics. Chen Xingdong
Chen Xingdong (; born 2 April 1970) is a Chinese former badminton player. He competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics in the mixed doubles event together with his partner Peng Xinyong. Chen was part of the Sichuan Sports Technology College team since 1984 and retired from the international tournament in 1997. In 1998, he was selected as a coach in Sichuan Province team and at the same year he join national team as a men's team coach. In early 2000, he focused as a mixed doubles coach.
