1995 Dhaka Premier Division League
The 1995 Dhaka Premier Division League, also known as the Lifebuoy Premier League for sponsorship reasons, was the 44th season of the top-tier football league in Bangladesh and the 3rd season of the Premier Division, following its succession from the First Division as the top-tier. A total of ten teams participated in the league which ran from 30 June to 17 December 1996. Venue The Dhaka Stadium in Dhaka was the sole venue for the league. Dhaka Premier Division Football League
Dhaka Senior Division Football League (), or the First Division Football League, is the third tier association football, football league in Bangladesh. Until 2006, it was the top-tier league of the country. It was established in 1948 as part of the Dhaka League, while modern-day Bangladesh was still part of Pakistan. Until 1971, it was run in parallel with the National Football Championship (Pakistan), National Football Championship in West Pakistan. The top-tier football league in Dhaka has seen numerous changes in both format and name. Initially, it was referred to as the First Division or Senior Division Football League. Wazed Gazi (; 1931 – 13 September 2018) was a Bangladeshi football player and coach. Early life Wazed Gazi was born in 1931 in Barasat, British India. His ancestral home is in the Dhalbaria Union of Satkhira District. Gazi's father, Soleman Gazi, worked for the Calcutta-based Jessop & Company, and thus, Gazi spent his childhood in Calcutta. Eventually, Gazi began working for the West Bengal State Electricity Board on a monthly salary and also represented them in the West Bengal Office Football League. In 1955, he began participating in the Third Division of the Calcutta Football League with Victoria Club. Mohammad Abu Yusuf
Mohammad Abu Yusuf (; born 11 September 1957) is a Bangladeshi football coach and former player, who last served as the head coach of Bangladesh Championship League club Dhaka Wanderers. Early life Yusuf was born on 11 September 1957, in Bakshibazar, Dhaka. His father was a religious speaker at the Bakshibazar Mosque while his mother was a stay at home parent. Yusuf is the eldest of six brothers and seven sisters, and spent much of his childhood in Kolkata, where he would become an avid fan of Kolkata Mohammedan. Saiful Bari Titu ( Bengali: সাইফুল বারী টিটু; born 3 August 1972) is a Bangladeshi football coach and former football player, who currently serves as the technical director of the Bangladesh Football Federation and most recently served as the head coach of both the BFF Elite Academy and Bangladesh U17. Nurul Haque Manik (25 June 1964 – 14 June 2020) was a Bangladeshi footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He was a prominent figure in the Bangladesh national team between 1989 and 1997. He spent most of his club career playing for domestic giants Mohammedan Sporting Club and Brothers Union. Kadiri Ikhana (born 31 December 1951) is a Nigerian football coach and former player who last managed Kano Pillars. Playing career Ikhana played as a midfielder for Bendel Insurance, winning the league in 1979 and the FA Cup in 1978 and 1980. Ikhana represented Nigeria at international level, playing for them in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches at the 1980 Summer Olympic Games. He won the 1980 African Cup of Nations with Nigeria. Shahid Uddin Ahmed Selim (; 23 July 1953 – 5 January 2022) was a Bangladeshi football coach and former player. He spent his entire club career with Brothers Union and had both played for and coached the Bangladesh national team. Selim captained Bangladesh during the 1980 AFC Asian Cup, which was the first and only time the country has qualified for the AFC Asian Cup to date.
