1994–95 Regal Trophy
The 1994–95 Regal Trophy was a British rugby league knockout tournament. This was the 24th season that the competition was held, and was the sixth staging of the competition since it was re-named the Regal Trophy. Wigan won the final, beating Warrington 40-10 at the McAlpine Stadium in Huddersfield. The attendance was 19,636. Background This season saw no changes from last season's re-vamping, with no new members and no withdrawals, and the number remaining at forty-eight. The entrants still included two French clubs and eleven junior clubs. The sixteen first round winners added to the sixteen clubs given byes, gave a total of entrants into the second round as 32. Wigan Warriors
The Wigan Warriors is an English professional rugby league club based in Wigan, Greater Manchester. The club competes in the Super League, the top tier of the British rugby league system. Formed in 1872, the club is a founding member of the Rugby Football League, Northern Rugby Football Union following the schism in 1895. The Batley Bulldogs are an English professional rugby league club in Batley, West Yorkshire, who play in the Championship. Batley were one of the original twenty-two rugby football clubs that formed the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1895. They were League Champions in 1924 and have won three Challenge Cups. Hilton Park (stadium)
Hilton Park was a multi-purpose stadium in Leigh, Greater Manchester, England. It was the home of Leigh RLFC rugby league club and Leigh Genesis football club. It had a capacity of approximately 10,000. The stadium was demolished in February 2009. History In 1947, Leigh Rugby League Club moved to new headquarters in Kirkhall Lane, having played at Mather Lane before the Second World War and at Madeley Park (Leigh Harriers Athletic ground) immediately after the war. Cougar Park is a rugby league stadium in Keighley, England, which is the home stadium of the Keighley Cougars. Its capacity is 7,800 people. # Chorley Lynx was an English professional rugby league club based in Chorley, Lancashire. Under various names, they were members of the Rugby Football League 1989–93 and 1995–2004. History Formation as Chorley Borough Springfield Borough had moved to Chorley in 1988 and changed their name to Chorley Borough. At the end of the 1988–89 season, the club decided to move again, to Altrincham as Trafford Borough, and this caused a boardroom split, leading to five Blackpool-based directors resigning to form a new club that would remain based in Chorley and using the Chorley Borough name. The newly formed Chorley side were based at Chorley F.C.'s ground Victory Park. The Keighley Cougars are a professional rugby league club from Keighley in West Yorkshire, England. The club play home games at Cougar Park and compete in RFL League 1, League One, the third tier of British rugby league system, British rugby league. Keighley have never won a major honour. Craven Park (currently known as the Sewell Group Craven Park Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby league stadium located in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is the home of Hull Kingston Rovers, one of two professional rugby league teams based in the city. History Hull Kingston Rovers moved to the new ground in 1989 from the Old Craven Park which was sited on Holderness Road. The new stadium was the first in Rugby League to offer hospitality boxes. Hoghton Road Stadium
Hoghton Road Stadium was a sports stadium on Hoghton Road, Sutton, a suburb of St. Helens (population approx 100,000), the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of St Helens in Merseyside, England. Brief history It was the ground used by St Helens Town A.F.C. from 1946 to 2000 when the club sold the ground and moved into Knowsley Road, the home of St Helens R.F.C. When the club was founded in 1946, a group of local businessmen purchased the Hoghton Road ground in Sutton for use by the club. Bradford Dudley Hill RLFC is an amateur rugby league team based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Originally formed after the First World War, the club was re-established in 1948. History Early years Established just after the First World War, Dudley Hill originally played on the old Bierley estate. They were led by rugby league player Stanley Brogden who, after his career as a stand-off with Leeds, Yorkshire and Great Britain, wanted to put something back into the grassroots of rugby league.
