The 1994 World Judo Juniors Championships was an edition of the World Judo Juniors Championships, organised by the International Judo Federation. World Judo Juniors Championships
The World Judo Juniors Championships are the highest level of international judo competition for juniors, 20 years of age or less. The championships are held once every year (except the years when the Olympics take place) by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries. The World Juniors Championships are the only junior event awarding ranking points for the seniors world ranking list. The last edition of the championships took place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan in 2024. Alexandru Lungu (born 3 September 1974) is a Romanian professional mixed martial artist, kickboxer and judoka. Lungu has most recently competed in the Super Heavyweight division of MMA. A professional competitor since 2005, Lungu has formerly competed for the PRIDE Fighting Championships, Cage Rage, and K-1, for both MMA and professional kickboxing. Judo career A successful judoka, Lungu won several judo tournaments across Europe, including the Romanian Cup in 2004 and the International Tournament Monaco in 2005. Kim Min-soo (born January 22, 1975) is a South Korean former judoka, professional mixed martial artist and K-1 kickboxer. He is best known for becoming a K-1 World Grand Prix 2006 in Seoul finalist and also winning a Silver Medal in Judo at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He is also known for his fights with WWE professional wrestler and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, WWE wrestler and K-1 fighter Sean O'Haire, and NFL player turned kickboxer and New Japan Pro-Wrestling contender Bob Sapp. Min-soo holds a notable kickboxing win over Muay Thai world champion Mourad Bouzidi. Graeme Randall, MBE (born 14 March 1975) is a former world champion Scottish judoka. He competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 2000 Summer Olympics, and won gold medals in the 81 kg division at both the 1999 World Judo Championships and 2002 Commonwealth Games. Biography Randall's judo career started at the early age of 12 and three years later he was awarded his black belt. Randall was educated at Lasswade High School, Midlothian. By the age of 19 he had become the Junior European Champion and won the Junior World bronze medal in the same year, while studying at the University of Edinburgh, where he completed a degree in Physical Education.
