The 1993–94 NBA season was the 24th season for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the National Basketball Association. The Cavaliers had the 22nd overall pick in the 1993 NBA draft, and selected small forward Chris Mills from the University of Arizona, acquired Tyrone Hill from the Golden State Warriors during the off-season, and signed free agent Rod Higgins in December. The 1976–77 NBA season was the 31st season of the National Basketball Association. The ABA–NBA merger was a major pro sports business maneuver in 1976 when the American Basketball Association (ABA) combined with the National Basketball Association (NBA), after multiple attempts over several years. The NBA and ABA had entered merger talks as early as 1970, but an antitrust suit filed by the head of the NBA players union, ''Robertson v. National Basketball Ass'n'', blocked the merger until 1976.
