Gherasim Luca
Gherasim Luca (; 23 July 1913 – 9 February 1994) was a Romanian surrealist theorist and poet. Born Salman Locker in Romania and also known as Costea Sar, and Petre Malcoci, he became an apatrid after leaving Romania in 1952. Biography Born in Bucharest the son of Jewish tailor Berl Locker (died 1914), he spoke Yiddish, Romanian, German, and French. During 1938, he traveled frequently to Paris where he was introduced to surrealists. World War II and the official antisemitism in Romania forced him into local exile. During the pre-Communist period of Romanian independence, he founded a surrealist artists group with Gellu Naum, Paul Păun, Virgil Teodorescu and Dolfi Trost. His first publications, including poems in French followed. He was the inventor of cubomania and, in 1945 with Dolfi Trost, authored " Dialectic of Dialectic", a manifesto of the surrealist movement Surautomatism. Bondoc Ionescu-Crum
Bondoc Ionescu-Crum (3 April 1915 – 24 June 1994) was a Romanian athlete and a football defender and manager. Life and career Bondoc Ionescu-Crum was born in the Bulgarian commune Bregovo to Romanian parents. When he was a little child, his family settled in Brașov where he attended the Andrei Șaguna College. In 1934, at the Inter-school Competitions that took place on the Câmpia Libertății from Blaj, he won five races and set a new national record in the long jump, jumping 7.03 meters. He won the title of vice-champion of the same event at the Balkan Games in Istanbul the following year. Ionescu-Crum competed in the men's long jump at the 1936 Summer Olympics. He was also a footballer, playing as a defender for Sportul Studențesc București and Venus București, winning the Divizia A title with Venus in the 1938–39 season, playing 7 games in the campaign. Moses Rosen
Moses Rosen (known in Hebrew as David Moshe Rosen, ) (July 23, 1912 – May 6, 1994) was Chief Rabbi (Rav Kolel) of Romanian Jewry between 1948–1994 and president of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Romania between 1964–1994. He led the community through the entire Communist era in Romania and continued in that role after the restoration of democracy following the Romanian Revolution of 1989. In 1957, he became a deputy in the Romanian parliament (the Great National Assembly), a position he held through the Communist regime, and after 1989, in the democratic parliament. In the 1980s, the Romanian authorities allowed him to receive Israeli nationality and he was elected president of the Council of the Jewish Diaspora Museum in Tel Aviv. Valentin Stănescu (20 November 1922 – 4 April 1994) was a Romanian football goalkeeper and manager. Club career Valentin Stănescu also known as "Tinel" or "Zimbrul" ( The bison) was born on 20 November 1922 in București, Romania and started playing junior level football at age 11 in 1933 at local club Olimpia. In 1942 he went to play for Malaxa Tohan for a short while, afterwards moving at Sportul Studențesc București for three years. He made his Divizia A debut playing for Carmen București under coach Petre Steinbach on 16 March 1947 in a 3–2 away victory against Dermagarand Târgu Mureș. Eugène Ionesco (; born Eugen Ionescu, ; 26 November 1909 – 28 March 1994) was a Romanian-French playwright who wrote mostly in French, and was one of the foremost figures of the French avant-garde theatre in the 20th century.
