1994 Copa Perú
The 1994 Copa Perú season ( es, Copa Perú 1994), the promotion tournament of Peruvian football. In this tournament after many qualification rounds, each one of the 24 departments in which Peru is politically divided, qualify a team. Those teams plus the team relegated from First Division are divided in 6 groups by geographical proximity and each group winner goes to the Final round, staged in Lima (the capital). The champion was promoted to 1995 Torneo Descentralizado The 1995 Torneo Descentralizado was the 80th season of Peruvian football. A total of 16 teams competed in the tournament. The Copa Perú is a association football, football tournament in Peru. Despite its name, it is not entirely an elimination-cup competition involving all Peruvian clubs, but rather a series of league tournaments leading to an elimination tournament, with regional league clubs as participants. It guarantees its winner promotion to the professional Segunda División Peruana, Liga 2. History In 1966, the First Division was named ''Primera División Peruana, Descentralizado''; teams from outside the capital of Lima were allowed to participate in the professional first division. The National Stadium of Peru is a multi-purpose stadium located in Lima, Peru. Talara
Talara is a city in the Talara Province of the Piura Region, in northwestern Peru. It is a port city on the Pacific Ocean with a population of 91,444 as of 2017. Its climate is hot and dry. Due to its oil reserves, and ability to produce aviation fuel, Talara hosted a United States air base during World War II. It was also one of two refueling stations for the Pacific Fleet.
