1993 Seattle Seahawks Season
The 1993 Seattle Seahawks season was the franchise's 18th in the National Football League (NFL). Playing under head coach and general manager Tom Flores, the team finished with a 6–10 win–loss record in the AFC West and missed the playoffs for the fifth straight season. In the first round of the 1993 NFL draft, Seattle selected quarterback Rick Mirer, who became their starter for the 1993 season. At the end of the season, running back Chris Warren, defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy, and safety Eugene Robinson were selected to play for the AFC in the 1994 Pro Bowl, the NFL's honorary all-star game. The American Football Conference – Western Division or AFC West is one of the four divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The division comprises the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. The division has sent teams to the Super Bowl twenty-one times beginning with Super Bowl I when the Chiefs played the Green Bay Packers, winning ten times, second only to the NFC East. The Wake Forest Demon Deacons football team represents Wake Forest University in the sport of American football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. Michael McCrary
Michael Curtis McCrary (born July 7, 1970) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive end for ten seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL) between 1993 and 2002. McCrary was a two-time Pro Bowler in 1998 and 1999. McCrary was inducted to the Ravens Ring of Honor in 2004. McCrary is now doing commentary for the Ravens on WBAL-AM. Early life When McCrary was a young boy his mother wanted to place him in a day care which was located across the street from his home. However, it wasn't racially integrated and she sued the day care to allow Michael's admittance. The case went to the United States Supreme Court '' Runyon v. McCrary'' in 1976. Terrence Warren
Terrence Lamonte Warren (born August 2, 1969) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Hampton Pirates. While Warren played football at John F. Kennedy High School in Suffolk, Virginia, he became better known as a sprinter. In 1988, as a high school senior, Warren anchored the United States 400 meter relay team to a gold medal in the IAAF World Junior Track and Field Championships in Sudbury, Ontario. He played both sports at Hampton University, where he set several sprinting records and was a two-time NCAA Division II national champion in the 200 meter dash. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and typically line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and so back up the defensive linemen. Dean Wells (American Football)
Dean Wells (July 20, 1970 – April 3, 2025) was an American professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) from 1993 to 2001. Wells played college football for the Kentucky Wildcats. He holds the school record for most sacks in a single game, recording five against Indiana in 1992, as well as single-season sack record with 10. Wells was selected in the fourth round of the 1993 NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks and played five seasons for the team, leading the defense in tackles in 1996. He signed as a free agent with the Carolina Panthers in 1999 and spent three seasons with the team.
