1993 Czech Republic Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 1993 Czech Republic motorcycle Grand Prix was the eleventh round of the 1993 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on 22 August 1993 at the Masaryk Circuit located in Brno, Czech Republic. 500 cc race report John Kocinski is given a Cagiva to ride after impressing them during testing. Kevin Schwantz needs to do well, and very disappointingly, qualifies in the 2nd row. Kenny Roberts looks happy that Rainey qualifies in 1st, his first pole since 1991. Kocinski gives Cagiva one of their best qualifyings with 3rd on the grid. Kocinski jump-starts but stops it immediately before the green light. Luca Cadalora gets the start from Rainey, Kocinski and Mick Doohan. Rainey takes the front from Cadalora, Doohan, Kocinski, Shinichi Itoh and Daryl Beattie. Masaryk Circuit
The Masaryk circuit () or Masarykring, also referred to as the Brno Circuit, refers to two motorsport race tracks located in Brno, Czech Republic. The original street circuit was made up of public roads, and at its longest measured . The track is named after the first president of Czechoslovakia, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. In 1949, events such as the Czechoslovakian Grand Prix attracted top teams and drivers. In 1987, the new (current) circuit was opened. The Brno Circuit is historically one of the oldest circuits, on the place were also held the most motorcycle championships in history after the TT Circuit Assen. Kenny Roberts
Kenneth Leroy Roberts (born December 31, 1951) is an American former professional motorcycle racer and racing team owner. In 1978, he became the first American to win a Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championship. He was also a two-time winner of the A.M.A. Grand National Championship. Roberts is one of only four riders in American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) racing history to win the AMA Grand Slam, representing Grand National wins at a mile, half-mile, short-track, TT Steeplechase and road race events. Roberts left his mark on Grand Prix motorcycle racing as a world championship winning rider, a safety advocate, a racing team owner, and as a motorcycle engine and chassis constructor. Michael Rudroff
Michael Rudroff (born 28 December 1960) is a German former professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. Rudolf competed in his first Grand Prix in 1987, and made one podium; coming third in the 1989 Nations Grand Prix. His career ranged from 1987 until 1996, where he started in 53 races, though he never started from pole position. Career Rudroff, riding a Honda bike, appeared in two Grand Prix in 1987, the West Germany Grand Prix and the Austrian Grand Prix where he qualified in positions 38 and 26 but did not compete in the final race. John Reynolds (motorcycle Racer)
John Stephen Reynolds (born 27 June 1963) is a British former professional motorcycle racer from Kimberley, Nottinghamshire, England. He won the British Superbike Championship in 1992, 2001 and 2004. Reynolds is an all-time great of BSB with his 37 career wins bettered only by Shane Byrne and Ryuichi Kiyonari. His 117 podiums is 2nd all time behind Byrne, what makes this mark impressive is Reynolds scored this in 202 starts. Making him one of a select few riders to finish on the podium in over half their career starts. His first domestic success led him into the 500 cc World Championship on a Padgetts Harris-Yamaha, taking 8 top-10 finishes over two seasons. John Douglas Chandler (born September 27, 1965) is an American former professional motorcycle racer. He earned a reputation as one of the most versatile racers of the 1980s and 1990s.
