Shane Andrew Parker (born 29 April 1970 in Adelaide, South Australia) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Australia and a four time South Australian Champion. Career Australia Parker attended LeFevre High School in the Adelaide suburb of Semaphore South, and started in speedway at the Under-16 Sidewinders Speedway in Wingfield in the early 1980s. He won the South Australian Under-16 Championships in 1983 and 1984 and went on to win the Australian Under-16 Championship in 1985 at Sidewinders (defeating Leigh Adams), and finish third in 1986 at the Olympic Park Speedway in Mildura, before turning 16 and graduating into the senior ranks. In his home country of Parker has been a successful rider winning the South Australian Individual Speedway Championship four times (1991, 1994, 2001 and 2002), Parker made his senior debut at the North Arm Speedway on 4 May 1986 riding an older 2 valve bike which was all his father could afford to buy. Bernd Diener (born 19 June 1959) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Germany. He competed in Speedway, Longtrack and Grasstrack and is a two times World longtrack team champion. Career Diener has twice been on the podium in the World Longtrack Championship 1996 & 2004. He became a team World longtrack team champion in 2008 and 2012 respectively. Diener won the European Grasstrack Championship in 1999. Diener won the German national longtrack championship in 2000 and went on to finish fifth in the World Championship that year. Diener won the German championship silver medal three times and bronze medal seven times spanning the years 1995 to 2019. Diener retired in 2023. Steve Schofield (speedway Rider)
Steven Schofield (born 27 February 1958) is a British former motorcycle speedway rider. He competed in speedway, longtrack and grasstrack Racing. He earned 12 international caps for the England national speedway team. Career Longtrack and grasstrack Schofield reached eight World Longtrack world championship finals and won the silver medal in 1997 and the bronze medal in 1998. He also reached seven European Grasstrack Champion finals and was the British Masters 500cc grasstrack champion in 1988, following seven consecutive 350cc titles from 1980 to 1986. Speedway Schofield began his British leagues career riding for Weymouth Wildcats in 1980 but it was not until the 1981 National League season that he became a first team regular. Marvyn Cox
Marvyn Cox (born 11 July 1964 in Whitstable, Kent) is a former motorcycle speedway rider. Cox was twice a winner of the German Individual Championship in 1993 and 1995, when he raced under a German licence. At retirement, he had earned 25 international caps for the England national speedway team. Domestic career Cox started his British leagues career riding for Rye House Rockets during the 1981 National League season. He made great progress during the 1982 season, improving his average to 8.87 but his season was overshadowed by tragedy when he was involved in an accident with American Denny Pyeatt whilst riding for Hackney in a league match against Reading, in which Pyeatt lost his life. He topped the Rye House averages in 1983, which attracted the interest of Oxford Cheetahs. The Cheetahs signed Cox from Rye House for £15,000. Andy Smith (speedway Rider)
Andrew Smith (born 25 May 1966) is a retired motorcycle speedway rider from England. He earned 29 international caps for the England national speedway team. Career Smith spent the first seven years of his career riding for the Belle Vue Aces from 1982 to 1988. He then joined Bradford Dukes for two British League seasons and began to build a reputation as one of Britain's leading riders. Smith also rode in Australia, including the 1990/91 Australian season when he based himself at Claremont Speedway in Perth, Western Australia. Despite Claremont being almost twice the length of most British tracks, on 18 January 1991 Smith defeated home town hero, and twice Australian Champion Glenn Doyle in the King of Claremont Classic. Smith also finished 2nd to Sweden's Dennis Löfqvist at the 1990 Boxing Day International at the Melbourne Showgrounds.
