Florida Southern Moccasins Baseball
The Florida Southern Moccasins (also shortened to Florida Southern Mocs) are the athletic teams that represent Florida Southern College, located in Lakeland, Florida, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Moccasins compete as members of the Sunshine State Conference in 17 varsity sports. Florida Southern has been a member of the conference since its founding in 1975. 1991 NAIA World Series
The 1991 NAIA World Series was the 35th annual tournament hosted by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to determine the national champion of baseball among its member colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. The tournament was played at Harris Field in Lewiston, Idaho. Hometown team and four-time defending champions Lewis–Clark State (48–7) defeated Oral Roberts (60–15) in a single-game championship series, 7–0, to win the Warriors' seventh NAIA World Series. The SIU Edwardsville Cougars baseball team represents Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in NCAA Division I college baseball. They compete as members of the Ohio Valley Conference. SIUE plays its home games at Roy E. Lee Field at Simmons Baseball Complex, located in the northwest corner of the campus. History The Cougars baseball program was started in 1967–68 by Roy Lee, who headed it for its first eleven years. In that time, his teams built a record of 237–144–3, going to 8 consecutive NCAA Division II playoffs and 3 Division II College World Series, with a runner-up finish in 1976. The Lancers are an NCAA Division I college baseball program that competes in the Big South Conference.
