1991 Copper Bowl
The 1991 Copper Bowl was an American college football bowl game played on December 31, 1991, at Arizona Stadium in Tucson, Arizona. The game featured the Indiana Hoosiers and the Baylor Bears. In the first quarter, Indiana quarterback Trent Green scored on a 1-yard touchdown run making it 7–0 Indiana. In the second quarter, Indiana got a 27-yard field goal from Bonnell making the lead 10–0. Vaughn Dunbar scored on a 5-yard touchdown run giving Indiana a 17–0 halftime lead. In the fourth quarter, Trent Green scored on a 4-yard touchdown run, making the final margin 24–0. Through the conclusion of the 2022 season, the 1991 Copper Bowl is Indiana's most recent bowl win. 1991 Indiana Hoosiers Football Team
The 1991 Indiana Hoosiers football team represented Indiana University Bloomington as a member of the Big Ten Conference during the 1991 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Guaranteed Rate Bowl is an annual college football bowl game that has been played in the state of Arizona since 1989. Played as the Copper Bowl from inception through 1996, it was known as the Insight.com Bowl from 1997 through 2001, then the Insight Bowl from 2002 through 2011, the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl for 2012 and 2013, and the Cactus Bowl for the 2014 through 2017 seasons. In 2018 and 2019, the game was known as the Cheez-It Bowl. In 2020, Guaranteed Rate signed on as the title sponsor of the game, renaming it as the Guaranteed Rate Bowl. The 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season will be the 153rd season of college football in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at its highest level of competition, the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Trent Jason Green (born July 9, 1970) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for fifteen seasons. He played college football for Indiana University. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the eighth round of the 1993 NFL Draft, and also played for the BC Lions, Washington Redskins, St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, and Miami Dolphins. He earned a Super Bowl ring with the Rams in Super Bowl XXXIV over the Tennessee Titans and was selected to two Pro Bowls with the Chiefs. The Southwest Conference (SWC) was an NCAA Division I college athletic conference in the United States that existed from 1914 to 1996. Composed primarily of schools from Texas, at various times the conference included schools from Oklahoma and Arkansas.
