1990 PBA First Conference Finals
The 1990 PBA First Conference Finals was the best-of-seven basketball championship series of the 1990 PBA First Conference, and the conclusion of the conference's playoffs. Formula Shell Zoom Masters and Añejo Rum 65ers played for the 45th championship contested by the league. Formula Shell took home its first PBA title by winning their series against Añejo Rum 65ers, four games to two. Game Six resulted in a tumultuous ending as the 65ers walked off of the playing court with 2:52 left in the second quarter and the Zoom Masters on top, 62–47. Añejo paid a total fine of P550,000. Shell Turbo Chargers
The Shell Turbo Chargers were a Philippine Basketball Association team from 1985 to 2005. It won four PBA championships, two from 1998 to 1999. Shell sold its franchise to PBL team Welcoat Paints in February 2006. Aside from being known as the Turbo Chargers, Shell was also known as Shell Azodrin Bugbusters, Shell Azocord Super Bugbusters, Shell Oilers, Shell Rimula X, Formula Shell Zoom Masters, Shell Helix Oilers and Shell Velocity. Chito Loyzaga
Joaquín "Chito" Cuerva Loyzaga (born August 29, 1958) is a Filipino former professional basketball player and basketball commissioner. He is currently the Athletics Director of the NU Bulldogs in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. He played for the San Beda College in the NCAA before going on to play in the Philippine Basketball Association. PBA career In the PBA, Loyzaga played one game for YCO-Tanduay, then migrated to Australia for two years. He came back to play for Toyota in 1983. After Toyota disbanded, Loyzaga moved to Great Taste, where he became part of the team's dynasty of four straight championships. Jose J. Cantada, better known as "Smokin'" Joe Cantada, (March 15, 1942 – March 22, 1992) was a Filipino TV host, anchor & commentator. He died of lung cancer in March 1992. He distinguished himself with his smooth baritone voice and his flawless use of figures of speech and idioms in calling sports events. Together with Pinggoy Pengson, Cantada was a senior anchorman for the '' Vintage Sports''' PBA coverage in the 1980s. He was previously a boxing and cycling commentator. Career Cantada started his career as a staff announcer doing an early morning program for a radio station in 1962. Joaquin M. Henson (born October 14, 1950), also known as Quinito Henson, is a Filipino sports analyst and television color commentator. His newspaper column, ''Sporting Chance'', has appeared in the '' Philippine Star'' since the 1980s. A color commentator or expert commentator is a sports commentator who assists the main (play-by-play) commentator, typically by filling in when play is not in progress. The phrase "colour commentator" is primarily used in Canadian English and the phrase "color commentator" is now rarely used in American English as the role is now more commonly known in the USA as "game analyst" or "match analyst". The person may also be referred to as a summariser (outside North America) or analyst (a term used throughout the English-speaking world).
