The 1990 U.S. Pro Indoor (known as the ''Ebel U.S. Pro Indoor'' in 1990 for sponsorship reasons) was a men's tennis tournament played on indoor carpet courts. It was the 23rd edition of the event known that year as the Ebel U.S. Pro Indoor, and was part of the ATP Championship Series, double-week events of the 1990 ATP Tour, running concurrently with the 1990 Eurocard Classic. ATP International Series Gold (known from 1990 to 1999 as the ATP Championship Series) was a series of professional tennis tournaments held internationally between 2000 and 2008 that were part of the ATP Tour. A carpet court is a type of tennis court. The International Tennis Federation describes the surface as a "textile or polymeric material supplied in rolls or sheets of finished product". It is one of the fastest court types, second only to grass courts. The use of carpet courts in ATP Tour competitions ended in 2009. Glenn Michibata (born 13 June 1962) is a former professional tennis player and former head coach of the Princeton University Tigers tennis team. Playing career Collegiate career Before turning pro, Michibata was an All-American player at Pepperdine University in the 1981, 1982 and 1983 seasons. Professional career – singles In 1982, Michibata won the Canadian National Tennis Championships (closed) defeating Réjean Genois in the final.
